Louie Leitz (1943-2005)
All proceeds for this event will go to the LOUIE A. LEITZ, JR. MEMORIAL FUND, established under the Capital Region Community Foundation by Louie's family and friends.
Louie was passionate about funding youth activities and developing youth programming. The purpose of this scholarship fund is to sponsor young men and women that would not be able to participate in youth athletics without aid.
About me: The OLD SCHOOL SHOOTOUT is celebrating its 2nd year of existence!! On Saturday, August 16th, 2008, Dewitt's OLD SCHOOL COURTS (in the parking lot of the old high school) will be packed with some of the finest ballers to ever walk the halls of the OLD DHS. Full-court 4-on-4 action starts at 9:00am and wraps at 5:00pm. Food and drink will be on sale throughout the day (see "Heroes" below) and bathrooms will be open.
Best of all, DJ Paul Rich (and friends!) will be on hand spinning OLD SCHOOL HIP-HOP throughout the tournament.
Who I'd like to meet: Fans of hoop. Fans of hip-hop. Fans of youth sports (see "Heroes" below). To put it more bluntly, YOU!! We want to meet YOU, dawg.
Looks like the 99 roster is a bit off. Here is the actual lineup: Capitan Paul Clifford Rich, Nick Cappelletti , Justin “That Baby Don’t Look Like Me” Dew, Keith “Catfish” Kenrick, Jason Lloyd, Commodore Toby Nabbefeld, Craig Soderberg, Josh Spangler, and Jack William Thompson the Third. Also, there is a bounty on Joe Galardi’s head. Your goin down Joe! And Class of 96, any team with Ted Hollenbeck on it is destined for failure.

Carl, I just went through the Old School Shootout Constitution with a fine tooth comb and also spoke with the board of directors....there is nothing that officially outlaws baked goods.
Jay, don't sweat "Big Red". He's a man on a mission this year, straight up blacktop ballin. He's Josh Hamilton in hoop shoes. And if I were you, I'd make sure Ryan Quinn studies those by-laws. Don't think for a minute the brownies in his lunch box are Grandma's recipe!
Shhhh. Do you hear that? Off in the distance?? YES. It's golden era hip-hop beats and the soft sound of basketballs bouncing that can only mean one thing...ITS ALMOST SHOOTOUT TIME!!! By the way, Carl I've got a new net for South Court covered...oh, and don't forget you're on Sehlke Patrol this year. No NASCAR tall boys out of the back of your tailgate...it's clearly stated in the tournament by-laws.
I saw Nick Quick at the Speedway on Clark and 27. We had some nice dialogue, so I took the liberty of inviting him to the Shootout. He was reluctant at first, but I warmed him up to the idea. Now's he excited to lace 'em up.
No need to thank me Pook. I like to think of myself as an Ambassador of the Blacktop, or something like that.
Swain, obviously spoken from the words of a reproduction nerd, who is fixated on genes and such, go back to your sperm, and let's see how you come out and play, if you play? You shouldn't be allowed to comment on the forum unless you've experienced the battle on the blacktop!
Don't expect much Jay. I hear my taxes are going up to pay for a Hall of Fame Monument. A monument that I don't stand a snowballs chance in July of getting my name put on.
I'll have to be satisfied with the 1988 "Camper of the Week" at Camp Long Lake.
'95 is planning a dribble weave for 20 mins. & holding for 1 shot. If that fails, probably a diamond press after makes. Can you do that with 4? Don't forget to bring your check books, YOU SALADS!!!!
Gentlemen: Great job to all involved in putting together the awesome day long reunion of a very special fraternity for a great cause. DEWITT BASKETBALL! Now, the envelope please with the All-TOURNAMENT SELECTIONS.

I'm gonna try to make it up to the beer tent without falling asleep at the wheel. I feel like I just fell down a flight of stairs!
I just want to say great job to Brian and Jay. That was one hell of an event. It was awesome to see everyone. Quite an accomplishment guys! Our little town sure has produced some good ball players.
I hope to see everyone again next year. Until then, I can go back to leading a productive life.
