    Good Ol' Aunt Tony's Interests
GeneralMusic gear. Especially DIY synthesizers and circuit bent stuff. Love Blassers work, and we have a few killer bent keyboards custom made by Dan Park (www.daniel-park.net and www.myspace.com/spunkytoofers). Love guitars, especially Gibsons with P90's and the freak show guitars. My crown jewel is a self made (out of different source materials) all ALUMINUM Stratocaster. The body is NOS un-anodized hollow Fender Strat Aluminum body from 1994. The neck is an early 'Peavey' headstock styled all Aluminum neck made by Greg Bailey (who has since retired). The pickups are factory standards, but I'll probably change them out with some chrome top Lace Sensors. I had to find a machinist to set the neck since no luthier would touch it. HA!
MusicDavid Bowie - LOW/Heroes/Station to Station,

Iggy Pop - The Idiot/Zombie Birdhouse,

Brian Eno - Another Green World,

Voivod - Angel Rat (RIP Piggy D'Amour),

Wolf Eyes - Burned Mind / Dead Hills,

Glass Candy - Everything (have they done anything bad?),

Captain Beyond - First Record,

Black Flag - Every Note. I remember sitting in my room trying (failing) to play like Steve Vai in '85. Got a rough cassette dupe of 'My War' and thought - HOLY SHIT - This guy (Greg Ginn) plays like me already and unlike 'Eat 'Em And Smile', I can actually RELATE to what their singing AND it's fuckin' brutal!!

Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Volume 4, Sabotage

White Zombie - Soul Crusher & Psycho Head Blowout - Pre Metal NY Scuzz stuff, totally mind melting noise rock and lyrically friggin brilliant. REALLY.

Chrome - Half Machine Lip Moves - Actually I like most of Chromes output (Red Exposure and Blood On The Moon are high up there) but Half Machine Lip Moves is COMPLETELY WILD. Alot of bands like to play at being 'Psychedelic', but these guys just took it to another level. Imagine Devo jamming with Jimi Hendrix, then mixed and remixed by Lee 'Scratch' Perry during an all night speed frenzy with Throbbing Gristle. Yeah, that's pretty accurate.

Can - Cannibalism 2 / Ege Bamyasi / Tago Mago / Monster Movies,

Finesse & Runway- A former roommate makes me blush with his MAD SKILLZ.

Loop - A Gilded Eternity,

Hair & Skin Trading Company - Jo in 9 G Hell, Over Valence,

Miles Davis - The Complete Jack Johnson, Dark Magus,

Neu! - Neu!/Neu!2/Neu!'75,

Onieda - Anthem of the Moon, Each One-Teach One, The Wedding,

Angel Rot - So Damn Holy (demo's for unreleased LP '02 True Metal!)

Pil - Metal Box, Commercial Zone (Find it, it's awesome! Levine's version rules!)

Misfits/Samhain/Danzig - I don't feel the need to explain Misfits or Samhain, but Danzig...Danzig & Danzig 4 I really dig. The first is classic plagarist rock, the fourth is Avant ACDC!

US Maple - Everything (I think they broke up, but DAMN they're amazing)

60's 'Punk' - Especially the pre-psyche post-garage stuff coming out of England like John's Children, Wimple Winch, Syndicats, The Hush, The Game, The Eyes, Paper Blitz Tissue etc. On the US side, The Sonics, The Seeds, The Index, Moon Dawgs, Lime Frost, Chocolate Moose - anything crude and singular.

VOID - Void/Faith split, and the Flex Your Head tracks. Bubba Dupree is AMAZING. Avoided it during the HC days because it was on Dischord. I was way too Metal for the 'No Drink - No sex' balogna. Apparently these crazy CRAZY mo-fo's were not like that at all.

Boredoms - Everything (I got to see 4x back in the 90's in Boston-RELIGIOUS!)

Royal Trux - The first four records cannot be touched!

BOC - Blue Oyster Cult, Tyranny & Mutation, Secret Treaties, Agents of Fortune (I'm OLD!)

Mainliner - All of it. Fuckin' High Rise too!

Sigue Sigue Sputnik - Flaunt It, RIOR cassette. Crass, beautiful, brilliant.

Beatles - White Album (It's encoded in my DNA)

Radiohead - Kid A on. Great pop dominated experimental music for the masses.

Bobby Conn - In the future, this guy is CAN or Beefheart. Believe it!

Deerhoof - Noise Rock n' Roll that makes kids want to rock!

BRAINIAC - Oh good GOD-Don't get me started!!

SKULLFLOWER - IIIrd Gatekeeper, Orange Canyon Mind

JAPANESE NOISECORE / J-CORE - 80's blast punk like KYOJINBYO, GUDON, TRANQUILIZER, Z, CONFUSE, ZOUO, MOBS, STATE CHILDREN, NIGHTMARE, GISM. If it sounds like forty washing machines falling down a flight of metal stairs - I want it!

FUSHITSUSHA - Keiji Haino's power (violent) trio. It's like the climax of a Hendrixian / Blue Cheer acid rock freakout extended forever. Not for the weak of ear! KOUSOKUYA - Led by guitar abuser Kaneko Jutok (RIP), Kousokuya sound like Teenage Jesus & The Jerks doing the first Black Sabbath record. Yes! It's that good (or bad depending on your tatse). NO!

PITCHFORK MEDIA, I'd hate your guts if you had any. You're the Rolling Stone of the underground.

STOMP & STAMMER - While I will never ever give you the love you so desperately need, I will say that my harsh critique obviously got through as the past three months have focused on NEW (or relatively new) artists! I don't like a single one of 'em - but that was never the issue. Bravo for waking the fuck up. I no longer reflexively wanna vomit when I see a stack of S&S.

BONAROO. 'Nuff Sed!
MoviesToo many, but the yin and yang goes: The Celebration

Jack Frost

Class of '84

Element of Crime

Naked Lunch

Blue Velvet

Videodrome (high up there)

Tokyo Fist

REPO MAN ( this film changed my life! Low budget sequel "Waldo's Hawaiian Holiday" with Alex Cox screenplay coming out '06!!! http://www.antstuie.com/index_3.html)

Gummo (this IS a horror movie, right?)

Ichi the Killer (My blood curdled)

Straight to Hell

Batman Begins

Mad Max

The Evil Dead series

I Heart Huckabees

My Best Fiend (Werner Herzog's documentary about working with Klaus Kinski)

The Romero 'of the Dead' series

Does the fact that I don't know what it is that I'm looking at in the Transformers trailer mean I'm getting old?
TelevisionPretty much the entire Adult swim line up, with Frisky Dingo, 12oz. Mouse, Assy McGee, and Metalocalypse being my droolling point.

Wunder Showzen. The test group for the 'Horse Apples' episode is perhaps the BEST television I've witnessed EVER. The DVD follow up is GOLDEN.

I watch more stuff on the innernets than on on ye olde boob tube. Channel 101, Super Deluxe, Comic Sacrifice... that kinda shit. Laffy stuff.
BooksNova Express (free your mind and suddenly "!". One of the best books I've ever read)- Burroughs

The Invisibles & The Filth - Grant Morrison (w/Phillip Bond, Phil Jiminez, Frank Quitely etc.)

Snow Crash - Neil Stephenson (WOW!! This guy was so ahead of the curve I could puke!! Mix this with Orwell's 1984 and we've got our VERY near future)

In Watermelon Sugar / The Abortion - Richard Brautigan

X-Force/X-Statix - Peter Milligan & Mike Allred (yes, it's an 'X' book, but is actually a clever satire on race, morals, and celebrity that reads like a superhero equivalent to Repo Man, humor wise)

100% - Paul Pope (a futuristic four tiered love story that trancends it's cyperpunk trappings)

KAMANDI, The Last Boy On Earth - Jack Kirby (A childhood favorite. Some kids had Tolkkien, Carrol or Lewis - I had Jack Kirby)

Dancing in the Dark - Caryl Phillips (fictionalized biography of the first African American 'superstar' Bert Williams - fantastic, brutal stuff)

1984 - George Orwell (2012 is more like it - we're on our way)

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - Hirohiko Araki (fey glam rock mix of Fist of the North Star & Scanners)

A TON of golden age comic books. Characters: Boy King, Worldbeater & Unggh, Stardust, Tabu - Wizard of the Jungle, Green Turtle (a superhero that, because of the era, never showed his face in the strip because he was - CHINESE!!), Etta Candy (wonder Woman's chubbed out Sorority Sadist Sidekick), Dr. Drew - The Zoo Man, Yankee Doodle Jones, Peter Pat, Etc.

Black Summer - Warren Ellis - Holy shit this balls out comic booking with a sledgehammer. The ONLY superhero book that matters today!
HeroesBlind Willie Mctell - The Root musician of my particular guitar style. Sonny Sharrock - The direct link Jack "King" Kirby - THE most powerful superhero artist EVER. Leslie & Karen The Rumford Group Home - I LOVE YOU for everything you did for me!! This goes for John 'joc' Clarke and Steven Williams as well - THANK YOU!!! Mike Malloy - Keeping my Liberal Fire stoked! Rod Defilipis - The best adult male figure I've ever known - again THANK YOU!!! My younger self for not going completely, totally, batshit crazy when I easily could have. THANK YOU!!!! No problem, bro.

Ok, so I do remember the Cabbage Patch Kids Riots. For some reason it just really creepy now that I'm in my 30s. Didn't bother me back then. I will never throw my Kids away though...
