I'm a jazz and improv double bassist. I began playing double bass in 2003, fulfilling a life long dream. I studied with the great bassist and teacher Steve Berry, and played with various free improv and jazz groups in Manchester, in particular post-rock/folk/improv duo Our Beautiful Ridiculous Plan and various projects with drummer Phillip Marks.
I lived and gigged in the Bath/Bristol area between April 2006 and August 2007, working with musicians such as Nick Malcolm, John Law, Joan Davis, Kevin Figes, James Chadwick and Jake McMurchie.
I've been living in London since September 2007, where - in addition to the bands listed on the left - I've been lucky enough to work with musicians including Evan Parker, Paul Dunmall, Mark Sanders, Steve Noble and Alan Wilkinson.
Hey Olie, i sort of found you by accident on here and thought i'd add you.. anyway i listened to some of the Tom-mix stuff and it sounds amazing. Nice to see you're doing so well man, hopefully we'll jam again someday :)
