Based between Ireland & Texas at present, Olive De Ville is foremost a Rockabilly singer, but is also known for her quirky and sultry swing sound. De Ville is a vibrant new and upcoming singer with a new approach to an old theme. Taking various influences and sounds from the 1950s, she mixes it with newer genres to create her own unique rockabilly sound. Olive De Ville's treatment is to produce a sound guaranteed to put the beat back into your feet, with toe tapping tunes to dance the night away. She's just a fun lovin', rockin' and a boppin' rockabilly kind of gal, who takes 8 ounces of Johnny Cash and 8 ounces of Janis Martin, with a spoonful of Curtis Gordon, mixed thoroughly with a pinch of Wanda Jackson and a sprinkle of Brenda Lee, adds a drop of Rose Maddox, Carolina Cotton plus her own special ingredients; which she cooks in a moderate oven and serves it Red Hot and Rockin! DeVille originally started off as a classical musician as a teenager. She specialised in the recorder and has a passion for the baroque era. Growing up,, all round her were the sounds of Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline, due to her parents love of such artists and her mum's singing. When De Ville first saw the movies, 'The Wild One', 'King Creole', 'American Graffitti' and way too many other classics to mention, it was then that she fell wildly in love with the whole '50s era and became engrossed in classic cars, '50s apparrell and music. From then onwards,, De Ville was past the point of no return and lives & breathes the sounds of the 1950s.
