Ah influences, it all starts in 1977, an impressionable 13 year old gets played Tomita by his music teacher and over the next couple of years hears Jarre, Kraftwerk and Gary Numan on the radio, who can forget seeing Are Friends Electric on TOTP for the first time!, wonders what those instruments are, gives up playing the trumpet, and the rest is history, thirty years later and synths are still my thing so here's a brief list -
Klaus Schulze, Early Jean Michel Jarre, Tim Blake, Gary Numan, Tangerine Dream (the Virgin albums and some early Jive Electro albums), Vangelis, Robert Shroeder, David Sylvian, Richard Barbieri, Steve Jansen, Kraftwerk, Human League (Reproduction, Travelogue & Dare), Robert Rich, Depeche Mode, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Skinny Puppy, Front 242, DAF, Nitzer Ebb, and a vast amount of other electronic artists, especially 1970's instrumentalists. Can't forget Steve Hillage, Gong, Pink Floyd and Blondie got to have some guitars with those synths as well man! And lets not forget the Doors!
Sounds Like
On the albums released so far I'd say mainly a mixture of Klaus Schulze and Robert Rich with whatever I bring to that combination; but Klaus when I'm playing live, and in the privacy of my own studio any of the musical influences mentioned minus vocals, although working with a vocalist would be nice.

I should up date this but I like what Tish has written, so think I'll leave it here for a while :)
Olley has not yet written anything so I'm doing it for him, I'm his missus.
Olley is the nicest person I know, as such he's not very good at blowing his own trumpet.
He has been a muso since childhood, he's been in bands as the keyboard player and in more recent years has been composing and producing stuff on his own and in collaboration with other muso's. He is very talented but doesn't have the muso ego to drive himself on and do mad stuff like give up the day job on a whim and expect the wife to support him, thankfully!
He's very quiet about his successes, his first album sold 10,000 copies within the first few months, he's played Glastos and he has library music published in loads of different countries all over the world. He's a very good producer and has produced release quality masters for many muso's starting out, charging nothing for his time, see told you he was nice!
Perhaps this will encorage him to write about his music........
Great to hear from you, had wondered where you'd been! I did go to Brighton which was pretty good nut a work in progress. I'm sure Soton was a better performance!
Would be great to see you in Camden, we are on 2nd so you should be able to get home ok.
Good to hear from you, it's very busy here. Just home from Dutch festival and 2 remixes to finish by the weekend!! Plus 2 interviews to do with German magazine and Harborough FM.
Hope all is well, maybe we'll see you at our November gig?
That's cool. I chatted with Skinny and Whip online, which is cool that they write back. I always thought Nightmare seemed like more of a snob, but I guess I was wrong.
I haven't heard the new Depeche Mode, but I think I will check it out.
Cool, that's what I have heard. Yep they said sometime (probably in 2009) they are doing a North American tour, which is awesome. I have been waiting since 2005, haha.
