Warming north-westerly winds bearing a hint of blues twirling through fairy-dwelling tree tops with a sprinkle of french stardust
Olivia is a singer, melodist and song-writer based in London. She adores creating vocal melodies and songs. As well as recording her own material, Olivia has enjoyed co-writing music for Baraka Theatre (The Brothel Project 2007), soundtracks to adverts and is in the process of co-writing experimental material within an ensemble.
'sometimes it seems my voice has a personality of its own. It sources sounds and melodies from somewhere within, before any thought, like a young swallow flying into the unknown heading for new heights.'
My first solo performance was the realisation of something I literally dreamt about, and since then I've performed regularly in and around London, and in Paris.
I believe the voice is an amazing channel for emotion, the most primitive one through which we express ourselves right from the second we're born! To turn those emotions into sound that touches people in some way is kind of like Alchemy; i like this magical potential.
I'm looking for a double bass player with whom to perform my more recent material that is becoming a fusion of acoustic-folk-jazz-emotion - genres can't always describe a sound. Anyway, even if you're not a d-bassist and you want to co-write, perform and explore new sounds with me, contact me and share what you've got. xox
