I grew up in the outskirts of Kansas City, MO, in a small town called Harrisonville. My daddy was a roofer and Church of Christ preacher, and Mom stayed at home.
All I ever wanted to be was a singer. I've never been able to go to a concert without wishing I was onstage. I remember being jealous of Alabama when my dad took me to my first concert at the age of 7.
When I was a little girl, Dad told me that Patsy Cline's voice was so smoothe and beautiful because she ate so many peas. For years I swallowed peas while holding my nose so I could sound like Patsy.
Now, I'm happily married to my High School sweetheart and have two beautiful boys (named Luke and Joey) and a dog named Patsy Cline. We're all living the dream in Nashville, TN!!!
Some quotes about me:
"Watching Olivia grow as a writer has been great. Seeing her turn that creative corner is what every "old dog" writer hopes for! Welcome to the "pack" Olivia!" -Ralph Murphy VP of ASCAP Nashville, hit songwriter, publisher and producer
"I heard Olivia singing at a local club for the first time and immediately after she got off stage I went up to her and asked her if she wanted to write. I was not only impressed with her voice and her writing but also with her upbeat outgoing personality."
-Mary Francis Hit songwriter, "Whiskey If You Were A Woman" Highway 101, "Tonight the Heartache's On Me" Dixie Chicks
"For Olivia's 10th birthday she got this girlie hair stying kit and of course, the hair brush wasn't a hair brush. Her dad asked, "Is there anything we can get her that doesn't "turn into" a microphone or guitar?"
-Brenda West Mom / songwriting instructor
Hey Olivia, I read some of your blogs. I love your writing. Very descriptive, somewhat vulnerable but mostly entertaining. Kinda "Prairie Home Companionish". Btw, my dad was a preacher too!
Hew Olivia, You know you are welcomed here for your show in Atlanta. Stay a couple days and come out to the Braves game the next day and see me perform for the Battle of the Bands. Can't wait to see you next weekend. Talk to you soon. We need to finish our song! Katelyn
