Olivia Wilde Hello friends! I will be shutting down my Myspace in the next few days. Please follow me on my upcoming website, wildethings.org! Thanks! Posted at 11:02 PM Nov 9 view more
About me: I am, always was, and always will be an actress (despite my brief but sincere commitment to become a rapper when I was 8.) I'm insanely lucky to have the chance to make money doing exactly what I love. I must have been a very small and unfortunate insect in my past life in order to be blessed with so much good fortune in this one. I am passionate about my many goals, which include empowering young people to take control of their destinies and to take responsibility for their fellow Earthlings. I started this MySpace page because I wanted a direct link to those whom I am honored to call fans (aka friends) so that I could pass on information about the incredible organizations, political leaders, artists, authors, revolutionaries and heroes I am so excited about. YAY technology for bringing us closer together. Now that we're all so close, let's change the world. xxO
As I considered how to get word out to more people about an important trial taking place tomorrow, it occurred to me that I was sure Olivia would be supportive of this endeavor if she were around to know of it. So I’m sharing word here regarding www.CourageCampaign.org/SaveDan , an appeal for signatures on a petition for an Army Lt. due to stand trail tomorrow for "moral and professional dereliction." What was his crime you may ask? His crime was speaking three truthful words: "I am gay." And for that, this Iraq veteran is facing discharge under the Army’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy.
Before Lt. Choi or one more person gets fired for no more than who they love, would you please consider going to the site noted and adding your signature to the growing petition that Lt. Choi will be taking with him to his trial tomorrow morning? We are the nation that fights for other country's peoples' freedom, after all, and yet here we are blatantly disregarding and trampling on our own soldiers' freedom. Where is the liberty or justice in that, I ask? There is none, in my opinion--and this rule needs to be changed before it destroys one more person's honorable career and life! I’m sure Olivia would support that stance as I’ve heard her speaking out about Prop 8 and using her own artistic endeavors and comments to try to change attitudes as it relates to gay rights and representations. So I hope when she eventually returns to this site, she won’t mind my using her space to both thank her for her ongoing efforts as well as to share word of this effort.
Thank you! And while I'm here, congratulations to Olivia also for continuing to gain recognition and respect for her endeavors! The world is truly finding out what we her fans have known all along, and I wish her continued success and happiness! Thank you, Olivia!
Woo-hoo! You're Maxim's #1 hottest woman! About time they realized it....and your shoot for GQ.....WOW!!! Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see you in Year One.
Congratulations, Olivia, you’ve made it half way through your 20’s (and very admirably so I must say)! Wishing you all the best life has to offer, and hoping this day will bring you an extra share of all that makes you happiest! Happy (Quarter Century) Birthday! --Darla
P.S. Couldn’t decide between humorous or serious, so you get one of each:
When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep. When we fall asleep, we commit no sin. When we commit no sin, we go to heaven. So, let's all get drunk, and go to heaven! (…and have a lot of fun along the way!) Happy Birthday!
