Après une école de batterie, Olivier se perfectionne durant trois ans à Paris en percussion classique. Batteur accompli, Olivier privilégie la scène, il joue en compagnie du trio d'Emmanuel Sourdeix, Ludovic de Preissac, Patrick Bocquel, Carine Bonnefoy ... Il a accompagné notamment Stéphane Belmondo, Alain Jean-Marie, Georges Arvanitas, Steve Lacy, Archie Shepp, André Villéger, Kenny Wheeler, Patrick Artéro, Olivier Hutman... Il s'est produit dans les festivals comme Marciac, Jazz à la Villette, Montpellier, Stuttgart, Coutances, Rhinojazz, Munster... ainsi qu'en Europe, en Afrique et au Canada. Il fait partie du projet Jazz-Théatre « A Love Suprême » en hommage à John Coltrane avec le comédien Adama Adépoju, Sébastien jarrousse (sx), Jean-daniel Botta (bs), d'après une nouvelle de l'écrivain Emmanuel Dongala, sur une mise en scène de Luc Clémentin et produit par le Théâtre du «Tarmac » de la Villette à Paris. IL codirige avec Sébastien Jarrousse un Quintet (Emil Spanyi (p) ,Olivier Bogé (asx), Jean-Daniel Botta (bs), Sébastien Jarrousse (tsx), Olivier Robin(dr) avec qui il a enregistré deux cd :"Dream Time" & "Tribulation" sur le label Aphrodite Records. ................................................................................................................. After having attended a drum school, Olivier Robin developed his classical percussion techniques in Paris. He played with : Emmanuel Sourdeix, Ludovic de Preissac, Patrick Bocquel, Carine Bonnefoy, Stéphane Belmondo, Alain Jean-Marie, Georges Arvanitas, Steve Lacy, Archie Shepp, André Villéger, Kenny Wheeler, Patrick Artéro, Olivier Hutman... and played at festivals such as Marciac, Jazz à la Villette, Montpellier, Stuttgart, Coutances,Rhinojazz, Munster, in Europe, in Africa and in Canada.
