I got married to a wonderful woman and have 2 dogs. In my free time I play hockey and work on my PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering.
Since high school, I have been and continue to be in college. I finally managed to graduate with a BSE in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Business and last spring completed a MSE in Engineering Management. I am currently employed as a Lean consultant (industrial engineer) at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I work in the Center for Management and Economic Research under contract with the Alabama Technology Network and the Lean Aerospace Initiative. I mainly facilitate kaizen improvement events, help companies develop value stream maps and improvement plans, and teach lean principles to companies looking to become and remain competitive. Unfortunately, I spend a good portion of my time on the road, but I am home every weekend.
As for my free time - I am a HUGE hockey fan. I love it!! I captain a team in the Senior Open League in Huntsville. If I am in town, I get up at 4am and on the ice by 5:15am playing pickup M/W/F. Days I don't play I go to the gym or "skate" on my powerskater and ride my stationary bike. Unfortunately, I am not as religious about fitness as my two dogs - they each get an hour on the treadmill everyday (they are balanced, calm, and submissive)!
