"To sum up, this X-File of a show is fun and entertaining, even if you don't quite know what to make of it. Fringe shows can go either way, but this one should be on your list, and not just because of the title." -- nytheatre.com
"Mr. Wells performance is a riot...[And] the talented Jeremy Bass...One of the more entertaining nights of theatre...If youre looking for a way to spend your Monday evening, and you want to be thoroughly entertained for little money, go be Olsen-terrorized" --NewYorkActor.com
in the course of a sleepless night in his apartment, The Man realizes
that he is turning into The Olsen Twins. Olsen Terror is an exploration of america's obsession with celebrity, youth, addiction and greed.
equal parts performance art, musical comedy, b-movie,
and kafkaesque cabaret, with a lone musician providing original sweet
pop music, Olsen Terror is a dark look at a Man trying to stay awake and sane in a country terrorized by The Popular.
here's what they said about the fringe shows:
"To sum up, this X-File of a show is fun and entertaining, even if you don't quite know what to make of it. Fringe shows can go either way, but this one should be on your list, and not just because of the title."
"In this sophisticated presentation Chris Wells enjoys referring to television as a metaphor-free media that doesn't require critical thought and he deconstructs his own show-in-progress. Original and inimitable."

I'm sorry - I find the equation of a show about the Olsen Twins and terrorism in the world today irresponsible and offensive....please take me off your mailing list. -- Morgan
This show may be great, but the graphic of anything making light of 2 planes hitting anything else is in fucking bad taste. --Porter

Miss Olsens,
You totally rocked the roof off Evidence Room last night! I would have stayed to get your autograph on my MK and A dolls but I had to get to another opening.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for coming to LA again. You have been sorely missed!
Kick ass. Take names. Obviously, New York has been very good for you!
Ezra Buzzington
Love the music and the lyrics.
Never thought olsen twins could be hot pieces of ass until I saw the photos of you boys on this site.
Good luck. I hope to make the LA show.
If youre a Mary-Kate and Ashley fan dismayed by the news that the twins have apparently given up on New York and moved back to L.A., Olsen Terror is for you. Or maybe it isntalthough the cabaret-style show, filled with sweet pop music from performers Chris Wells (vocals) and Jeremy Bass (acoustic guitar), is an homage of sorts to the fun-loving, trend-setting duo, its also a trenchant critique of them and everything they stand for vis--vis our contemporary American industrial-entertainment complex. If that sounds like a mouthful, so are certain delirious moments in the show, such as when Wells, playing a middle-aged man who thinks hes turning into the Olsens, sings a creepily plaintive song that goes, It may not be the end of civilization as we know it, but it very well could be. At the same time, he recounts a dream (or nightmare) in which the twins stand across a gaping, smoking hole in the ground downtown in an Armegeddon-esque 9/11 allegory, as if managing to unite the world-or at least the West and its Jihadist opponents- with their tiny frames. Other jokes are less epic: Theres a Full House, but Im empty inside! Wells squeals at one point. His demented pop-cultural vision (created with Dave May) is hysterically brilliant, unlike anything you might see on (or Off) Broadway. Who knew Mary-Kate and Ashley could be so inspiring?
After seeing your show again last night, I would like to rescind my previous comment. It would irresponsible of you to let anyone miss it. I very nearly peed myself.
And I thought that I was an orgy of self-promotion ... You really should feel the freedom and ease to sit back and let word of mouth do the work. Your show fills me with those oceanic feelings, like Freud credited to aesthetics of reiligion. That's what you are to me.
