Two Steps Huge in Germany Interview
My name is Eric Olson "Oly" I grew up in Stillwater MN. I started playing drums when I was in grade school and started playing in my first rock band in 7th grade (Cyclops), that band split in 10th grade and I started singing with another band after much persuasion. They told me they already had a drummer and needed a singer. The singing thing lasted for a few years and a few different bands around the Twin Cities then in the fall of 1991, I decided to forget music for the most part and move to Colorado to ski. After much skiing. I hurt my knee and had surgery, (like half the population in a ski town) Not being able to ski I found my interest in music again. I bought a guitar for $25 and started writing songs and playing open mic nights. I recorded a EP in 95' called "Simplify" of some originals with Arnie J. Green. Shortly after an old high school friend I use to sing with, called and said he was living in Alaska and needed a change. I said grab your guitar and move to Colorado to start a band. We started Tunnel 6 in the fall of 95' put out a record in 97' and called it quits in 2000. In 2002 I put out a solo acoustic record "Holly Would" and in 2008 I am recording a new record under the name "Stereomaid" with various friends. Some people say I sound a lot like "Max Von Axberg" the lead singer from "Huge In Germany" but I really don't think so. Love you all.
