Movies
..We have shown some Movies through the years, and many of our performers have integrated film into their acts.
Television
..In past festivals, a few of our acts have used Televisions during their performances. Most notably at the 10th Annual festival, the duo Therefore performed entirely via videocassette on two television sets.
Books
..Books have not been as big a part of the festival as Movies and Television (thus far!), however at the 2nd Annual fest, the artist Prince Charming performed by reading a book while playing a pre-recorded piece.
Heroes
..John Cage, Emma Goldman, Meredith Monk, the Fluxists, Sun Ra, John Peel, Andy Warhol, Anne Waldman, and most especially - all of the artists who have graced our stages in 14 wonderful years!

THE OLYMPIA EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC FESTIVAL
What began in 1995 as an almost spontaneous gathering initiated by emails between like-minded musicians pushing the boundaries of their art has exploded into a festival of international renown and rare every year dependability.
A big part of that dependability is that while the festival grows, it knows how to keep things in perspective. While line-ups in recent years have featured some bigger names than in the early days, there are still just as many artists who have not played this big of a show before. The event organizers, staff, sound-people, and poster artists continue to donate their services entirely for free to keep the costs to the public low, and the proceeds entirely in the hands of the musicians traveling from out of town to play. This is a rare event where you are likely to see the artists from one night in the audience at the next, listening and watching with rapt attention.
The Festival will be celebrating it's 15th Year in June 2009!Please let us rest a few months for now...

Hey come to this show! It's going to be way awesome! Cheap ear plugs will be for sale just in case! At least check some of these bands out, because they are all really really good!
The phenomenon is tunable in that the characteristic sounds and intensities of those sounds depend on the characteristics of the RF energy as delivered... Because the frequency of the sound heard is dependent on the pulse characteristics of the RF energy, it seems possible that this technology could be developed to the point where words could be transmitted to be heard like the spoken word, except that it could only be heard within a person..s head. In one experiment, communication of the words from one to ten using ..speech modulated.. microwave energy was successfully demonstrated. Microphones next to the person experiencing the voice could not pick up these sounds
