The music and mind behind OMEGA rests on the shoulders of one person, Jeremiah Hendricks. Born June 12th, 1983, Jeremiah grew up in a small Wisconsin town not known for any musical scene. Jeremiah started to get into music around seventh grade when he was introduced to his still favorite band, Nine Inch Nails. Nine Inch Nails hooked him into the indutrial/rock music scene. From that point on his musical tastes expanded into many of the nu-metal/rock/industrial bands. Along with his musical preference changing, so did his outlook on life and his ambitions. After experiencing his first concert, Nine Inch Nails, his dreams of being a cop switched to being a musician. From that day forward he told himself that he was going to make a name for himself on the stage.
A year later, he joined his first band, FIREBRAND. FIREBRAND was a local band of four kids looking to have fun making music. Although he had no previous training, Jeremiah was put on bass and picked up quickly. FIREBRANDs music did not fit with Jeremiahs exact tastes, but he enjoyed the work and was willing to do anything to go somewhere with the band. FIREBRAND came to an end as everyone grew older and devoted less time to the music.
Jeremiah decided to reach toward his dreams alone. He moved to a bigger city and attended a recording institute. During his years there he learned a lot about himself and what he wanted to do. Jeremiah knew in his heart that he wanted to be a singer. He wanted to make a name out of himself like his role model, Trent Reznor.
In the start of 2004, Jeremiah sat in his studio and pounded out his first attempt of creating music alone. During this process he created the name for himself, OMEGA. OMEGA means the end and it was the perfect fit to his agenda. The end to living life like everyone else and not doing anything with his musical passion. The outcome of this studio time was a four song demo consisting of the songs Need You, Alone, Numbness, and a mixed piece introduction. Not only was this his first attempt to performing and composing all of his own material alone, it was his first attempt at singing.
After sending out the demo with little response, Jeremiah crawled into a hole and took sometime off. He had to decide if he still had the passion to follow through on his dream. Sometime later he snapped back into track. He went back into his studio with more confidence in himself. This time recording Now You Know, What have I Become, P.M.N.T.D, and another mixed introduction. In this demo you can hear a vast improvement in the writing style and in Jeremiahs voice.
After this demo was completed Jeremiah went through some rough times in his life. He lost his love for music and everything around him. He forgot about everything he wanted and everyone that he knew and basically spent the time drinking and wasting away. He still knew that he wanted to be a musician, but he did not know how to get his head on straight.
A year later he woke up and decided to try and get back on track. This time he wanted to create a full length album with a deeper concentration on the song writing and lyrical side of the music. He went back into the studio and started working on new material. The little bits that I have heard have been ten times better than his old material. Much more effort and time spent on all the parts. Jeremiah has recently stated that his new album has a tentative release date of Fall 2006. Look out because this cd is sure to be a hit.
