OMM Combining original songwriting, instrumental talent and a love of all things musical, OMM cannot easily be placed into any one category. Since its late-night party origins in the summer of 2005, the band has provided an inspirational and expansive blend of funk, rock n roll, jazz, and roots music.
Based out of Chico, CA, OMM consists of a dynamic drummer (Jessica Allen), a multi-effects savvy bassist (Rev. Jason Tate), and a melodically groovin’ keyboard player (Tristan Reaper). They have played up and down the West Coast at many prestigious venues, such as the historic Brookdale Lodge in Brookdale, CA, the legendary LaSalle’s patio in Chico, CA, and the Roadhouse in Sacramento, CA.
In addition, OMM has gained a strong reputation for providing an electric mix of danceable tunes throughout the well-loved West Coast festival scene, including memorable performances at Wild Mountain Faire (Concow, CA), The Solganic Funk Festival (Selma, CA) Belden Town Bash (Belden, CA), Gathering of the Tribes (Mt Shasta,CA), Butte College Earth Days (Oroville, CA), Chico State University’s springtime concert series (Chico, CA), and many more.
Their debut album, Foundation E.P., was released in January 2006. The band released their follow-up, "Three E.P.," in January 2009. In June of 2009, OMM gained international exposure when their song “All Around You” was selected for inclusion in iCast UK’s best of MySpace podcast.
Through the years, OMM has continued to update their sound, while always keeping things on the funky foot.
“…pleasantly acid jazz retro…there’s something in there.”

“…a soul, rock, and funk gumbo heavily seasoned with drum and bass…a cross between Primus and the B-52s…”
~The Buzz
"OMM's blend of Funk, rock and psychedelia make them a welcome addition to Chico’s music scene."
~Alina Neacy (KZFR Chico)
“Funked-out.”
~The Synthesis
Jessica Eileen Allen is the rhythm section for OMM. She has been playing the drums for 12 years. She studied at the Bloom School of Jazz in Chicago with Grammy award winning drummer Paul Wertico. Jessica has performed with bands on both the East and West coasts and is excited about the potential of OMM to play its part in the Ongoing Musical Migration.
The Reverend Jason Tate for over a decade has been laying the foundation for seminal acts in Chico's original music scene. As a founding member of Potluck, the Rev helped usher the acid jazz movement that defined the Chico sound at the end of the 1990s. For the new century the Reverend co-founded Magic Theater, a band critically acclaimed as the "Reincarnation of Rock." The Reverend took a sabbatical from performing after MT released their landmark album "Smoke and Mirrors" at the end of 2002, and has re-emerged with OMM in June of 2005.
Tristan Reaper, hailing from Santa Barbara, California, is OMM's newest member, adding a whole new dimension to the OMM sound with his keyboard textures and musical vision.
