OMOYE's
first original work in progress is part of the discovery of OMOYE.
By Expressing
herself though songwriting she has developed from pop and
matured to an artistic
groove. She remembers her Nigerian father gathering
the family to play African
drums; this became the rhythm of her life. And
her mothers love of jazz led her to
discover the language of freedom that
jazz music represents.
OMOYE has life long experience,
training and awards. Since 92
she has traveled the United States and Canada
performing with; Creative And
Performing Arts jr and high school, Rust
College Acapella Choir, and University
of Memphis Jazz Singers. She has also
performed with her cover band on
historic BEALE ST, the Dingo Music Festival and other venues over the years. Her audience varies in race and age but
feel a closeness that she
delivers through music.
OMOYE's style is Nu-Jazz which is a composite of R&B, jazz and soul.
She is also featured on local albums in
Reggae and rap/hip-hop. As an actress; she has a starring role in the movie "Hells Kitchen", produced by CM&I Entertainment and also appears in "Funeral Arrangements".
