STAR-STUDDED ROCK OUTFIT – ONCE – COLLABORATES WITH ICONIC PRODCTION TEAM AND PREPARES TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM
DROP CHOCOLATE NOT BOMBS to be released on iTunes on August 25, 2009
New York, NY – (May XX, 2009) – On August 25, 2009, Royal Bengal Recordings’ flagship artist, ONCE, will be releasing their debut album titled- Drop Chocolate Not Bombs. The nine track opus, witch features mixes from such highly regarded engineers as Paul Lani (Red Hot Chili Peppers, David Bowie, Chrissie Hynde) and Dave Hilis (Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Afghan Whigs) was recorded at Sunset Marquee Studios in Los Angeles , California under the watchful eye and masterful ears of producer Marc Jameson. Jameson’s credits include working with some of today’s biggest names such as Madonna, BonJovi and Christina Aguilera.
Sami Rahman, lead singer and songwriter for the NY-based quartet had this to say about the collaboration, “I am a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason, so when I befriended producer-Marc Jameson at a party in LA and found myself working with him at his studio a couple of weeks later, it really came as no surprise to me. The same goes for the bands relationship with Paul [Lani] and Dave [Hilis]. To say that these two have impressive resumes is a true understatement! Between the two of them, they have worked with some of the most inspiring artists of the past 20 years- from Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains to Bowie and the Chili Peppers, so when they offered to mix the record it was a no-brainer!” Rahman goes on to add, “To call them our friends and be able to create art with them as well is truly an honor.”
Rahman is joined on the album by a star-studded lineup of musicians including Pelle Hilstrom (Abandoned Pools, Modwheelmoods) on lead guitar, Kelli Scott ( Queens of the Stone Age, Failure) on Drums, Indie-soloartist Fox Fagan on bass, and LA session player Anthony Dean on rhythm guitar. Jasper Kristensen recently joined the cast as ONCE’s touring drummer.
The first single for the album is “Change” and its add/impact date for radio is June 16, 2009.
