Where we get our name.....
Acts 2:44
And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all [people], as every person had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people.

:MISSION:
After The Why're and countless other awesome venues in the central pa area shut down we and many others were at a loss as to a cool place to see cheap all age shows. We were sick of lame over priced shows where no one has fun, selling tickets and 21+ shows at bars.
So we stuck to our DIY code of ethics and decided to use what we have and throw the best shows around.
We have an intense desire to do something unique and throw shows that will be cheap, with an emphasis on scene unity, diy, and fun. So come out soon to one of our shows. Spread the word and show your support. This is a place we want everyone to come to and feel like they are home. We are happy to talk to parents and meet them anytime and encourage them to come and see what we do here. We are under non-profit statis and suggest a donation amount of $5 for each show, which goes to the touring bands, and to our next show.
:PROMISE:
We book one or two shows a month, so a lot of time effort goes into each one. We have plenty of time to promote and get people excited! We book 4 to 5 bands so each band has plenty of time to play and people stick around for each band. We never over book a show! Headliners and locals are equality respected here. Each show is unique and amazing and not to be missed.
:SHOWS:
Shows held monthly. Check the blogs. Various music styles and themes to the events. We will mostly be doing punk rock shows, but our definition of "punk" has a broad musical meaning. We think punk is as punk does.
All shows are open to the public, and all ages! Sometimes featuring potluck, food and drinks or anything anyone wants to bring.
:SUXY THE VINTAGE & PUNK CLOTHING STORE:
Now featuring a fine collection of new & used clothing! Boys and girls all sizes, vintage to punk and everything in between. Accessories, posters, cd's etc. Come see what we have @ Suxy. Suggested donations for clothing...
:RULES & STUFF:
No smoking inside, use the front porch or back porch areas and throw butts in cans or ash tray.
Throw all trash in trash cans, help keep our house venue clean!
No drinking and no drugs.
No fighting or violence, you will be asked to leave or removed.
Anyone caught stealing will be banned from the venue and police will be called.
The rest is up to you. We will keep throwing shows, and anyone is welcome to help out with booking ideas, clean up, volunteer, food/drinks, art, decorating ideas, etc. Message us with your ideas we are open.
:ENTRANCE:
The entrance to our basement is around the back of our house, follow the signs and go down the side of the house through the alley which leads to our backyard and entrance.
:BANDS:
Unless you are a touring band or the "headliner" most bands need to expect to not get any money for playing, certain times will will give gas money to a band from far away. That is set up before hand. We exist for the kids and only keep enough money to do the next show. Bands get three free guests to the shows, free drinks and can sell merch or take their own donations.
We have mics and the pa sound system and some instruments if needed. Just let us know.
:LOUNGE:
We feature a comfortable private band lounge area, for touring bands to relax, sleep, eat, whatever. With a couch/bed, dining area, tv & dvd, and wireless internet. Hot tea made upon request. Located near the kitchen with access to fridge etc.
:LOADING IN:
Bands can turn off Maclay onto Susquehanna St.(it is a one way street) and take an immeadate left into a parking lot area and load through the wooden fence. This is right behind the house. Follow signs for guidence.
:LEGAL:
By coming to our house you agree that we are not responsiable for anything lost, stolen, or any damage to your personal items, and we are not responsible to any person for any harm, loss or damage, however caused, that may arise from being at our house show. By entering you assume all responsiablity. And come at your own risk.
That may sound very extreme but we have to say all that to keep it legal and be able to do this. But having said that, our house is very safe and so are all our neighbors. But we advise you to lock your car and hide any items of vaule as we cannot account for other people surrounding us.
We are not a bussiness, we use this myspace as a way to advertise to family and friends about events we have going on.
:PARKING:
Is free on the streets surrounding the house, anywhere is good. Adittional parking located at the Youth Advocate center you can park there and the Rite Aid right down the street from the house. As well as the laundry mat. These places say they will tow or are permit but they will not. These business's are all on Maclay street.
any further questions message me.
love the house of one accord
Who I'd like to meet: Bands who want to play at our venue...and people who want to come out to the best shows of their lives. All styles of music and artists.
*A NOTE TO BANDS*
We apologize that we cannot get back to all the messages. We only do a few shows, and if we can help out a touring band we really try. If not hit us up in the future. It really helps to read all the info. on this page. And please try to tell us what kind of music you are in the message. The more info. the better!
We encourage you to be present for all the bands playing, it helps build the scene, relationships and shows support. Bands with this mentality will get booked again and again.
Also if you want to send us cds, press kits, T-shirts etc. we love to get them and listen to all!! We are (1) size small and (1) size large. 244 Maclay Street Harrisburg, Pa 17110.

thanks for the add! and letting us on the 14th! it shall be great! remember u can download our records for FREE! now! just head over to www.pericles.bandcamp.com
You're right, for the most part all day fests usually do kind of suck. I think what worked nicely for Flew the Coop Fest was that we split the bands up so bands of the same genre weren't all at the same time. That way people who didn't necessarily like folk would stay through the folk bands to see the hardcore bands, etc. Dan had the whole day on lock down, in that he wrote up a huge schedule board to hang in the venue space to make sure everyone set up and played in a timely fashion, made sure all the bands were there almost all day, and made sure there was plenty of food to go around the whole time (if people eat a meal they are much more inclined to donate to bands). Our location also helped a lot. People from the college could walk to our house, and there was sufficient parking for all the people who drove. Other than that, it was just putting out fliers and getting the word out. Good luck with your show! Justin/T&T
Unfortunately we can't play on the 14th (our guitarist has a conflict). We're really sorry. :[
I looooooove the Dangerous Ponies and I was kind of freaking out when you asked if we could play the show with them (they are one of my favorite bands right now). It is a bummer we can't do it. :[
Anyway, keep us in mind for some future shows... we'd definitely would love to play sometime in the future. Just shoot us another message!
The couple of us who won't be out of town that weekend will definitely stop by. It should be a pretty rad show. I am stoked!
your off our buddy list, seriously and you can forget that top friends spot now. But on the real, no worries, let us know if you wanna get down in the future and good luck with all your projects!
Hi Somers & Jake. How's it going? I gave my e-mail address to a photographer that night at the show (older man with glasses & I think a 50mm lens). He never got back to me and was wondering who was the photographer you said who came to shows and took pictures for you guys. I saw two and they took quite a few pictures so I'd love to get in touch with any one of them. Thanks and let me know. Have a great day,
Thanks for the add, I'm glad you are a fan of our stuff. I love house venues so you get an A+ in my book. Can I use you as a contact for PA? A lot of touring bands ask me for booking contacts and I don't know too many places for PA. If you are interested I can send anyone who asks your way.
hey somers jake and union strikers, sorry it took us so long to get back to you but it was a little while before we all were in the same room together and we never make band decisions on the phone. we had actually decided that we could do your sept 26th show but that is when we thought you could throw us some gas chedda. i'll talk to the rest of us about your halloween show, i'm sure it will be a go that far in advance so just count us in. also thanks for thinking of us, we got mad love for all you folks too, you are our favorite church. peace d ar2
