AdvoCare's Family and Youth Defense Fund is established as a legal defense fund using AdvoCare's current tax exempt status and charitable purpose under their Family Bound program. The purpose of the fund would be to provide assistance in general actions, individual cases, or for filing amicus briefs where the outcome of such cases may effect our members and the general public in areas related to our organizations charitable purpose, goals, and description of activities. The fund, and all donations to the fund, would be governed and administered under the direction of AdvoCare's Board of Directors.

Thaks so much for the add. As a small business owner, starting out, I am worried about being able to provide proper/quality insurance for my future members and employess. I want them to have the best available, but currently that would present a challenge. I believe that this healthcare reform would really help new business owners like myself, as well as everyone else. It may be an adjustment at first, but all changes are. We must look to the future, and not be stuck in selfish state of "the now"; demanding immediate results and expecting miracles to happen in the night. One generation gives to or takes from the resources of the next: It is time to make sure we are the generation that gives!
Not only changes in our policies are needed, we need to reshape our daily lives to become more efficient, healthier, happier, and sustainable as members of a global society. We must build our country back up and trade locally as much as possible, but we have to reconize that there is an entire world of individuals who are looking for a better day. Together, we can make these simple adjustments. Learn from the past, don't live in it: The prejudices of yesterday are the road blocks of tomorrow. Peace.

This is the time to step up the pressure. There is deadlock
that was the last resort of insurance and pharmaceutical
opponents. When we got moving they knew they could delay
until after the Tuesday election and when the Republicans took
these races give the Blue Dog Democrats something to think
about. We have to give them something to think about if they
delay and don't pass the right bill soon.

The fight for national health care has been a long struggle.
It reminds me of the Civil Rights Movement or the Fight
For Woman's Right to Vote. Why does it take so long to
fight the big corporations? In the eyes of the Law we gave
them the status of personhood. They are not people.
The Constitution says, "We the People." and not "We
the Corporations."

A friend had an idea that I thought might be very effective. We live in SC, a state where it does no good to write to our Congressmen (in our experience, they ignore anything from Democrats--they do not represent us since we did not vote for them). But if all of the people who live in states like this were to write to Harry Reid, and tell him that if he does the right thing and puts the Public Option into the Health Care Reform Bill, we will contribute $50 (or $25 or whatever we can afford) to his campaign.....and if he doesn't, we will contribute to his competitor's campaign (the point being, if he's going to act like a Republican what's the difference?). There must be close to a million Progressive Democrats in Red States with no one to write to and support on the Public Option, Harry Reid will listen to 50 or even 25 million dollars. What do you think? Please pass this on if you like the idea :) Also we want to get rid of the anti-trust exemption on insurance companies!

i've phoned and emailed all my dem representatives and told them that if we do not get single payer now they are in power, that if they dare fail us again. i will be voting republican from now on and will be working against all dems at every level of government. now please understand. i hate the republithugs. i believe they are all either zealots, idiots or criminals, or some combination of the three. i have NEVER voted for a republican in any election at any level. HOWEVER i WILL follow thru with my threat.
for 2 reasons. to punish the dems for failing us again and to hasten the revolution i feel is a certainty under the continued policies of the republithug party of greed and lies.
i ask you all to consider joining me in letting the dems know what the result of thier failure will be.
they obiviously are not concerned with serving the people, but rather only care to be served BY the people. in this sense they are no different than the republithugs.
we elected the dems to enact changes from the failed republithug policies. single payer was top of my list of expectations from the dems. if they refuse to act in our interests, if they fail us yet again, what the heck good are they anyway? punish them people, make them pay. be heard, warn them. then follow thru if the fail to act.

Just to let you know. I am a federal employee, a mailhandler for the US Postal Service and that my health insurance premiums will rise as much as 8.8% next year, at which time they will announce the profits they made THIS year.

I am tired of all the hoopla going on over health care reform, I'm tired of all the scare tactics that congressman and Senators are putting out there. Change is a necessity when it comes to health care, we as Americans will sit by and watch athletes, and actors earn millions of dollars when our health care is failing us all, and then bitch about the cost, what price tag do you cap on the life of your family!
