PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THE LETTER BELOW from Nawang Losel, INTO YOUR OWN EMAIL/BULLETIN AND FORWARD TO THOSE YOU BELIEVE WANT TO ATTEND THIS HISTORIC RALLY. ~ Thank you!~~~~~~
"The free must speak for the unfree, and the silenced." ,, Nawang Losel, Tibetan exile.
I am writing to ask you to join the event, "One Human Race," in support of justice for Tibetans and all people. This is an opportunity to come together with people from different faiths, different cultures, and different communities in support of human rights for Tibetans, and for the oppressed all over the globe.
This rally will take place on Sunday, March 30 at 1 p.m., on the lawn in front of the Downtown Nashville Courthouse, on the corner of Union St. and Third Ave. In keeping with Buddhist tradition, we invite you to bring a blanket or towel for sitting.
We will share stories and poems written by Tibetan exiles and former prisoners of conscience, and offer suggestions on what we can do to help. Speakers from many different faith groups will be represented as we call for our communities, our politicians, and the leaders of countries all over the world to respect human rights of all people. In this climate of divisiveness, let us come together to show that compassion and justice are universal to all faiths, and to all people.
No doubt you have seen the photos, have heard the reports of Tibetans calling for the end to the oppression of the religion and their culture. This is a chance to not just watch it on the news, but stand up and support basic human rights that we all should be granted: freedom of religion and freedom of speech. It is easy for us to speak out. It is not for those who live under a regime that crushes free speech with an iron fist. Tibetans are risking their lives to speak out against the oppression they have endured. Stand with them in solidarity that all humans should live in equality.
This event is supported: Project Giving Justice, Tropic Heat Studios, Blue Moves Modern Dance Company, Homeless Power Project and members Nashville Peace and Justice Center.

About me: WHO WE ARE
One Human Race for Justice (1HR4J) is an all-inclusive social action organization that promotes the interconnection of the global human family and our inalienable right to dignity, justice and peace on planet earth. Upholding the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (adopted by the U.N. in 1948), 1HR4J uses education and the arts to catalyze compassionate action on human rights struggles, both locally in Nashville and globally.
***********************************************************
OUR MISSION
The mission of One Human Race for Justice (1HR4J) is to connect people with good will to causes that help – not harm – our human family. We encourage people of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds to become activists for human rights. Our method and our goal for achieving human rights is nonviolence (in thought, speech and action).
***********************************************************
TIBET AS A GUIDING FORCE & A GLOBAL PRIORITY
We are inspired by the leadership of His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama to teach peace and compassion to audiences across the globe, including warring nations. We are also deeply concerned about the safety of the Tibetan people and the Tibetan way of life inside Chinese-occupied Tibet, where freedom of movement and expression have been grossly diminished. For these reasons, 1HR4J shines a spotlight on Tibet and considers it the foundation of all its activities. In the words of Tibetan refugee and 1HR4J co-founder, Ngawang Losel, “the free must speak for the un-free, and for the silenced.” This statement encapsulates the vision and motivation behind the work of 1HR4J: that people with freedom have a responsibility to take action on behalf of those who have none. While not all 1HR4J activities will focus on Tibet, the Tibetan people’s struggle for self-determination and their spiritual values of compassion and forgiveness remain in our hearts as a guiding force and inspiration.

Thanks to all who made it out to the Know Tibet benefit. We raised some money for Tibetan Refugee Children and enjoyed time spent with others of the same heart.

Representing Buddhists, Jews , Christians, and others ~ this diverse group is United in Calling for Religious and Cultural Freedom for Tibetans, and using the lens of Tibet as a window on Global Human Rights.

thanks for the update :-) I have a video editing software you might want to use ....let me know - would love to catch up with ya'll at your home again soon. HAPPY SPRING!
I love you <3 ....it is with deep emotion, tears...i watched the video of your DC trip ---It would be an honor to host that on my YouTube channel -- please let me know if that is possible. Your continued work/efforts are humbling to witness....and a joy! to see transpiring! Om/Shalom - Gigi
Hi friends - please snag this and repost! -------- NEXT WEEKEND (eek!) NEXT WEEKEND!!! 9/20 & 9/21 Thank you so much for being a friend !!. I do hope you will come to the Party - the musicians! it will be ...like meeting your new best friends, and so talented! JIM BECKWITH'S SHOW is going to be historic! I've got an amazing band lined up to back him!!! (music teachers/students from UT Knoxvile - they played the Antiqua Carnival this year!)I can't wait until that moment - all the work done, and I get to enjoy the party. I'm shorthanded or there would be a lot more publicity and posters, etc. So I'm counting on word of mouth which is going well :-) and folks sharing w/ their friends via myspace and email. - one of my friends/musicians, scheduled to perform: Joe White & Stone Cold Soup - (doing their original Country Music), he used to play with the Jerry Garcia band, (produed Huey Lewis too) said this reminds him of the "vibe" of a Dead Head concert - like a reunion. My greatest challenge is to achieve an intimate feeling where everyone, from on stage to the audience, feels like they are united at a private party - not some commercial show ... I don't do those. This is just me, throwing a party - it just happens to be in the heart of ST Elmo's historic bussiness district :-) Please come! Tell your friends, and bring chairs, blankets, etc - to be a part of the friends arriving. Saturday starts at 2PM (Caribbean food!!) with live music beginning at 6PM, lots of surprises for both those on stage and in the audience :-) Sunday is Interantional Day of Peace, and this event is listed on their main website. WE begin at NOON with a DRUMCIRCLE!!!! BRING DRUMS! - Sunday's schedule is noon - 8 pM, with more wonderful music, including a Steel Band from Atlanta! A free workshop in Steel Pan will preceed their concert - for anyone interested/all-ages. & DAVID LLEWELLYN - award winning songwriter!

One Human Race 4 Justice ~ oh how we rock-on! I so proud :-) hugs! Gigi
After viewing the bulletin-video that was sent out this morning, I wiped the tears away and was filled with renewed energy that we must help to end this atrocity against humanity.
We shonuff thank ya a whole bunch for what you're doing! And thanks for lookin' us up & for being our friends out here in space! We're very honored that you have our song, "Home" on your page!
We hope you'll come boogie with us this Friday night at the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival for our round with Molly Thomas, Matthew Ryan & Diana Jones at The Station Inn at 7:00pm!
Please get out to the Courthouse today, folks, even if the rain or temperature is inconvenient. The Tibetans don't have the luxury of waiting for us to be comfortable to help them. Join us!
On Friday, a friend of mine sent me that exact quote that Krystal noted below. Freaky.
i fully support Your efforts to help gain peaceful solutions to the problems in Tibet. What is going on in Lhasa and other cities is a disgrace to all free people. No one should have to suffer that way. How many deaths will it take? What can i and others do to help?
Dear One Human Race: i fully support your sincere direction for Peace. It is time. i hope to be there. Either way, i am there in thought and prayers for all involved to experience strength and power. Kindly, Tedi May
Dear Ngawang, Offering You the energies of stability and peace in all your endeavors. As now is part of Sunday, You have my love and care this moment. Peaceful steps, Skip
