It all began with just a couple of guys saying, "Hey, lets get together and try to play some Third Day!" Their days as a band were short lived as a couple of them moved off for school and various other reasons. Almost two years later though, God brought them all back to the same small town where it all started. As they reunited, they began to lead worship on Wednesday nights for the youth of their home church, Center Point Baptist in Scottsboro, AL. Each had grown individually in their musical talents. They began to have practices and even wrote a few original songs. Thus Oneighty was born. Jeana joined the guys a few months later, completing the vision they shared.
Oneighty signifies the one hundred and eighty degree turn you must do when you give your life to Christ. You must abandon your old ways and take up your cross daily to follow Him and Him alone. Now therefore, says the Lord, turn to me with all your heart Joel 2:12
Oneighty is a diverse group and each has a different dream for their life, but they share the same vision and purpose: to lift up and glorify Jesus, and to futher His kingdom.
When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit... By all means pray, and don't you quit. Success is failure turned inside out, God's hidden gift in the clouds of doubt.
You never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems afar. So trust in the Lord when you're hardest hit... It's when things go wrong that you must not quit!
