One in Three people in the Isle of Man will contract cancer in their lives. It could be your mum, your best mate - or you. The Isle of Man Anti Cancer Association is trying to change that by raising money to use in research which helps to treat and cure cancer. But it also helps in a practical way too by giving money to the Isle of Man health service which goes towards preventing and detecting cancer in our community.
To celebrate 50 years of fighting cancer in the Isle of Man, we have put together a compliation CD showcasing some of the best music from the Isle of Man. This has only been possible through the generous acts of all the bands on this CD who have given their time and material for free.
It's only when you start talking to the band members about why they're so enthusastic to get invovled that you realise how accurate the one in three statistic is. So many of them have personal stories about how friends or family or in some cases even they have suffered with cancer.
If you want to help then head on over to one of the seven Manx shops who are selling this incredible CD at only seven quid. You should probably hurry though - numbers are limited!
