  • Bio

They are based in Dundee. Here is their story. "John used to be in a band called Spilinski, with his brother Riki. They broke up. Riki and John started another band with Graeme from Venkman (formerly Throb) and Doug from On Noble (formerly Topical Medicines, formerly Infernal). Riki went to live in Italy and was reborn as Ricardo, a goateed, pasta and wine loving type. John, aghast at this betrayal, gave Riki's abandoned bass and amp to his flatmate Lee, who overnight became a rock chick extra-ordinaire, in a kind of foot on the moniter, Nashville Pussy way. So, along with Graeme "Fieldy" Field on kick-ass rawk drums and Douglas "Doug" Mackay throwing angular post-rock guitar shapes, and trying to mess up John's pretty songs, 1" Volcano was born. What do they sound like? Well, depending on who you believe, they either sound like Pavement crossed with Queens of the Stone Age, Pixies crossed with with shudder to think, or Smashing Pumpkins crossed with Soungarden. None of these is true, they actually sound like Stiltskin. The end. PS.Then Lee left and Stuart from Yessa de Paso joined." and now finally Andy is the tall weedy guy who has no history of bands. Came fae nae wair. The latest bassist who swept in like the plaster to a wound and nursed One Inch back to practicing occasionally and playng once every so often. Soon though, hopefully one inch will be back gigging full-time.
