The story of ONENINE89 is a simple one. HighSchool Bestfriends Quintin "Q-MAC" McMichael and Donovan "DHAT" Hatfield started off like many other rappers; music lovers. During any freetime the duo spent together they would freestyle about the wierdest, yet, most creative things around them just for a joking laugh. However, towards the end of 2007 they saw that they could actually have some success with music. This is when they took up the title as "rappers". ONENINE89 consists of more than just two rappers, however. McMichael and Hatfield are musical producers, entreprenuers, and educated young men. Both of them are currently enrolled in college pursuing degrees in Accounting(McMichael) and Architectural Design(Hatfield). Their multiple talents reflect in their music. Their dream of becoming business men and well respected men comes off in their songs "Club Onenine89" and "Highlife". Their lyrical talents are clearly shown in "Before We Hit the Ground", "Gone With the Wind", and the Outro to their debut "ONENINE89 presents: The Goodfellas". Their love for RnB, ol' school hiphop, and jazz music are infiltrated in the lyrics, rhythms, and melodies of their songs. With that said.... everyone "lets get it in!!!"
