All good things must come to an end. The time has come for OnePlace to close our doors. Our last show will be July 30th.
I could easily write a novel on the subject, but I’ll try to keep this short and sweet. As some of you may or may not know we have shared the building with a church from the start, sharing rent, the building, equipment and so .. the last few years the church has decided to close their doors and move on. I’ve tried everything I know to find a way to keep the venue open but due to the location of the venue rent is extremely high and impossible to afford no matter which way you slice it. Even as busy as we are, to fund the room solely as a all ages venue just isn’t possible. I’ve looked into moving locations but start up costs are a bit much for where I’m at in life right now. Perhaps someday long down the road I’ll open up somewhere new.
It’s been a very fun ride and I’ve really enjoyed working with all of you, and seeing kids come back time and time again. Watching the venue grow has been an incredible experience for me and it wouldn’t have been possible with out you. I personally would like to thank Zack for his time and hard work he put in getting this venue heading down the right path, none of this would have got near the level it did without him. Also, Mandi, Gavin, Gabe, Nick and anyone else involved in the earlier days that brought us where we are today. All the promoters, far to many to list but a quick few: Will, Michelle, Josh, Erin, Caleb, Tim, Tim, Jeremiah and the list goes on. Thank you for trusting me with your shows and all the support you gave me. Obviously, you all were the backbone to this whole deal. You can’t have shows without some killer promoters so thank you. If it wasn’t for these people the venue never would have got off the ground or to what we all turned it into.
Thank you all for your time, love, and support. Come hang out at a show within the next few weeks before it’s all over.
I heard you guys had to close up shop. Man Im really sorry for the loss. One of first shows I played at was at the One Place. Opened up for Lennore and it was a blast. /salute I hope what every everyone does in the future will be grand and will be met with huge success. /cheers
I wish I could be there tonight but I have to work...I'm really bummed about the situation...make sure you keep us all posted on your future adventures!!!
RIP One Place, may this open the doors to many new wonderful venues. Thank you Josh and any one else that has helped out with the venue since its opening.
oh wow I just read that so i'm a little late. I was wondering why a lot of bands were posting that it was their last show at the one place ever. The one place was the first venue I went to with my friends and everytime I drive by it i'm gonna think of all the good times. Good luck with your future i'm definitely gonna miss it.
It's absolutely miserable that the OnePlace is closing =[
Your venue totally changed my summer. Really. You took me from having no life and stuck at home to making more friends, I started getting out and having fun, enjoying music, and most importantly found amazing people. I also got to meet great bands.
I'll definitely be missing the oneplace. what a great place it really really is. if i could i'd give you the money needed to stay open! keep doing what you do
Everything has a time and a place, ONE. You have inspired me to pursue a similar venture in the White Mountains, so thanks for living the rock! Good luck, Joshua
The One Place is one of our favorite venue to play!
It was so close to us too which made it even better
We wish you nothing but the best in the future sir and thank you for everything you've done for us and countless other bands that have played on your stage
