Formed in February 2002, One Pound Piece was created in the midst of change. Jim Hartnett had recently disbanded central New York favorites floating Noah after a successful 10 year run and was ready for something new. Drummer Chris Dibbern had just moved to the area after many prosperous years in the Florida music scene and was also ready to explore a new direction. While individually frustrated, together they formed an immediate bond and envisioned what would become One Pound Piece.
Combine Chriss visceral attack on the drums, with Jims aggressive guitars and melodic vocals, and Steve Manko's solid bottom-end backbone and what you get is shear power and energy with melody and depth to form music unlike any other. Musically, as a three-piece, there is nowhere to hide. Each member's individual abilities are raw and open like an exposed nerve leaving no room for flaws.
With songs catchy enough to sing to, yet heavy enough to cause severe damage, One Pound Piece manages to win over even the harshest critics every time they play. They must truly be experienced to be believed. Just see a live show and One Pound Piece will win you over too.
