Chris Smith had a dream when his relationship with the Holly Rollers went south. He and good friend Guy Lane were going to start a band. Chris contacted Dave formally of The Common Wealth and soon they were playing in Daves family warehouse. After trying a couple of friends out on guitar Dave asked a reluctant Glenn to join. Glenn and Dave had been through a lot with The Common Wealth and were tired. Chris used his connections and soon O.S.F. recorded their 7 Wish and put it out with help of the newly financed Gad Fly records (Thanks Trav!!!). As time progressed Chris left the band briefly to move to PA and support his budding relationship. During which time the rest of the boys didnt slow down. They employed the help of Evan Tanner on Drums & Nadja Moczulski as the Booking Agent. Nadja booked a US tour for the boys and they found themselves on group house floors, indoors, in the van, in hotel rooms, in front of hundreds & in front of no one Rockin the FUCK OUT. Evan bowed out quietly after tour 1 and in came Colby Johnson. On Tour 2 Nadja enlisted the help of friends Liquor Bike & Trusty to help with a tour. The Bands blazed a trail across the US and all was well until they got home. As with any band there are always Flakes. As it turned out that Colby was one of them. Now what the hell are we going to do? Then before tour 3 Chris returned and OSF immediately recorded their full length album. The Self Titled album came out on Merkin Records and had a new found level of support. With the new record in hand Nadja took to the phones again for US tour 3. The third tour took a toll on the boys and Nadja. Dissension, Egos, second guessing, fatigue & ultimately a physical altercation changed the dynamics of the band once again. Nadja was not the booking agent anymore and Chris was out as well. Feelings were crushed and it was a tough time to get through for everyone. As the smoke cleared in came Jeff Bradford. Tour 4 was booked by Glenn and Trusty who just signed to Discord. After returning from tour the boys had a dilemma. What were they going to do about a 2nd album? Merkin was tied up with Love Nut and seemed reluctant to put out another record. The boys continued to write and play shows regionally. Finally there was a break. Eli Janney of Girls against Boys had produced OSFs self titled album. He had been playing it for friends in the industry up in N.Y. Eli said he had an A&R woman who was interested in meeting with them. Meetings in New York happened quickly and it was determined that Columbia Records had given the A&R woman a budget for Onespot to come up and record a demo. At that point OSF was still under contract and felt it best to confer with Merkin Records before going up to record. At the time Merkin had just sold Love Nut to Innerscope Records and legal matters were in the forefront of the labels mind. It was decided that the boys were going to record locally with Merkin and send those songs ahead to Columbia. At C.M.J. the boys rocked out. Merkin and the A&R woman got into shouting match. After that the deal was off. The A&R woman said the recording was not what she wanted and expected her people to pass on it. Which they did. The boys were back at the bottom again. This became too much for Glenn to deal with. As time progressed Glenns ego wouldnt let him realize they had to start again. In frustration Glenn was asked to leave or start again. Glenn felt that leaving would be the best thing to do. He was living at home, void of ambition & flat broke. After Glenn left Dave, Guy & Jeff joined forces with C. Rolling. With the departure of Glenn Onespot slowly came to a grinding halt. Deflated and bruised the boys disbanded quietly. On the up side Glenn went to school and is now a successful financial advisor. Guy and Nadja were married in 1996. Guy also went on to play in many local bands and had moderate success. Dave continued his career as a singer and is in between bands. Chris played for a few more years forming Antenna Farm & had some time in All the Dead Pilots as well. He currently is a head chef. C. Rolling played for the Velveteens & a brief Shit Reunion then vanished. As for the rest of the drummers, Colby Johnson is MIA from the scene & Evan Tanner continued to play & tour with Cross my Heart, Hidden Hand and others. Jeff Bradford played in a band with Guy called Dolph Sweet & then went on to a long stint with landspeedrecord!. Jeff resides in Baltimore and plays drums in Hollow Boy. OSF had one reunion show that fucking Rocked. Unfortunately old forces stopped the continuation. Just another story of another band. Onespot Fringhead had the fortune of playing with Liquor Bike, Trusty, 3HD, Butch, Ed Hall, Pedge, Burners Grove, Bulk Mulch, Stranger Than Fiction, Seade, The Pee-tanks, Jimi's Chicken Shack, Juice, Squid, Avail, Tribal Voice, Octopus, Glaze Ride, Coffin Break, Beserk, Hellicopter, Jaw Box, The Motz, Light Sleeper, Virkoloka, Fugazi, Tilt, Pezz, Lupari, God Plow, Slug Hog, Juevos Rancheros, Green Day, Blank, Citrus Ego, Paper Tulips, W.O.D., Lobe, Rubber Sole, The Skunks, Boy Wonder, God Plow, Tesco Vee, U.O.A., Pitchblend, Gorilla Monsoon, Thorazine, Wesley Willis, The Toadies, Bouncing Soles, Sam I am, Girl Drink Drunk, Slant 6, Bark Market, Gin Mill, Karma to Burn, Broad, Spot, & many others who are lost in the soufflé.
