Bio
ONE TIGER DOWN PLAY A UNIQUE AND ECLECTIC MIX OF ROCK, FUNK, SOUL and pop to create an exciting and electrifying breed of music. Melodious vocals, smooth electric lines and a strong groove characterise the sound of this melodic rock four-piece from Fremantle. _____________________________________________________________________ "These guys know an absolute truck load about blues/soul/roots music. You just can't fake this kind of thing" - Jaymes Brown, Drum Media _____________________________________________________________________ OTD has been making waves throughout the Perth music industry since 2008 when they released their self-titled debut EP to a string of sold-out shows. This Tiger was quickly seen as a roaring success as the EP soon sold out, and the follow up release of the film clip 'Wise Yung Yu' was included on the 'Kiss My WAMi 09' compilation. _____________________________________________________________________ Following numerous tours to the South West and a loyal following growing in Perth, OTD set their sights on the East Coast and toured to Melbourne in 2009. The band released the successful self-funded single 'Bow and Arrow' soon after; a recording which captured the hearts and minds of their fans and built on the reputation their debut EP had created. _____________________________________________________________________ "One Tiger Down make an upbeat and memorable Perth-pop sound with a soul. 'Bow & Arrow' showcases Tim Bott's honest and clear vocals. B-side 'Take What You Want' is a highlight that calls on American classics like The Eagles, then updates, slows down and adds a groove. Lovely" - Daniel Parkinson, Drum Media _____________________________________________________________________ The Year of the Tiger (2010) began with a bang for OTD with a stellar performance at the 2010 Southbound Festival. The year didn't slow as the band prowled through Western Australia's North West and South West, opened the West Coast Blues & Roots Festival at the Official Opening and headlined many high-profile local shows. The year finished on a high with OTD supporting big name national touring acts Lior and Matt Corby, to name a few. _____________________________________________________________________ OTD have spent the start of 2011 in the creative mode and are busily writing new material for their up coming second EP release. So keep your ear and eye on the Tiger for a sneak peak of the new tunes and release dates. _____________________________________________________________________ BOOKINGS: WWW.JUMPCLIMB.COM -
