On It recently had 2 documentaries air across the BBC radio networks. The first of which was Music On My Mind, an hour long documentary on BBC Radio 2. In the documentary Iyare Igiehon sets out to explore the rich and complex relationship between music and the mind - and tries to survive without music for one day.
The show is was critic's pick of the day in the Times, Independant and the Guardian, pick of the week in the Daily Mail, was featured in Radio 4's Pick of the Week and also received a write up in Ariel magazine. We also had the documentary A London Thing? broadcast on BBC 1Xtra during Max's show on the 30th July. In the program DJ Q looks at how the new bassline scene has gone from it's fledgling beginnings in Sheffield to chart topping success in the UK. It also examines whether the music industry hinders the development of new urban sounds outside the capital.
DJ Q recorded a promotional video for his latest record 'You Wot'. On It were there to shoot a behind the scenes video. You can check it out below...

We are proud to be working with BBC Blast to present the Blast Out Loud workshops. Catch Jason, Iyare, Twin B and Dev Griffin around the UK this summer on the BBC 1Xtra Blast tour. Check out the dates in the On Road section to see when we're in your area.
The workshops aim to give young people an insight to what it takes to be a professional broadcaster. As well as presentations and question and answer sessions there will be an opportunity for students to record a demo and the best ones will be broadcast on BBC 1Xtra.
