OK... get comfortable. This is gonna take a while.

I've been battling writer's block for so long now... Even Crossfire was a very forced song, although I think it turned out OK. Now, all of a sudden the dam has burst and I'm writing almost faster than I can handle. I wrote 2 songs in one day yesterday. I'm so excited for this sudden creative flood. A lot more to come, I think....

So anyway, I have the two songs' lyrics posted on my page in blogs.

The first one, Hit the Ground is a total Alice in Chains influence. Lyrics are dark (big surprise, eh?) and a bit angrier than my more recent stuff has been. I'll be recording this one next.

The second one, Jimmy Pain is written for/about my friend James Agony who is a musician in Singapore with a band called Choir of Agony. Lyrically I think it stands on its own as one of my stronger songs. Again really dark subject matter, but a lot more sophisticated than Hit the Ground which is more like a hammer to the head. James himself says it's the best gift he's ever been given, and he's a hard man to impress.

So stoked!! I think there's a lot more to come. I'll hopefully have a rough cut of Hit the Ground for you to check out within a week or so....
