Only Footprints (OFP) was formed in 1987 in New Brunswick, NJ by Jeff "Spike" Tryon and Chris "B" Birmingham over a few beers and a song (I believe it was Helplessly Hoping) as a two person acoustic band. The name "Only Footprints" was taken from the environmental credo, "Take Only Pictures, Leave Only Footprints" which can be seen on signs in National Parks across the globe. Be good to your world... "We've only got one, we gotta ride on it...".
OFP is based out of the northern New Jersey area and can be seen playing in various local bars, clubs and festivals through-out the NJ/NY/PA area. OFP plays a variety of musical styles from folk to rock (classic to new) to bluegrass..., though we remain Deadheads to the core, playing mainly cover tunes (lots and lots of Dead!) although an original or two tend to sneak their way into the set list every now and again. The band line-up consists of:
Chris "B" Birmingham: Acoustic & electric 6-string lead guitar, mandolin and vocals.
Jeff "Spike" Tryon: Acoustic 6/12-string & electric 6-string rhythm guitar, mandolin, harmonica, banjo and vocals.
Chris "Pokey" Griffith: Electric 5-string bass, acoustic & electric upright bass and vocals.
Chris "The Troll" Rock: Congas, various percussion and unidentified noises.
Angela "Ace" Cavallaro: Vocals, acoustic 6-string guitar, keyboards, tambourine and various percussion... with our Official Unofficial drummers... Rob Burach (of New Road fame) and Brian "Bam" Bridge (of Dyer Weed fame).
