Highway is an old school hard-rock band whose musical influences come from such legends as AC/DC, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, ZZ Top, Guns and Roses…
The bands comes from Sète, in south of France, and was created by two brothers Benjamin and Romain Chambert. Guillem Ayral (guitars), JM Gantard (bass) and Benjamin Folch (vocals) joined the crew the same year. They started touring the local clubs with repeats of classics of Rock’n’Roll.
After Guillem left the band, one year later, Highway participated at the Duels Rock of 2001, organised by the famous club of Montpellier : The Rockstore. In this occasion they were joined by guitarist Nicolas Thouraille. Concerts were starting to attract more people and the first fans made their appearance.
In 2002, for their second participation at the Duels Rock, Highway takes the first place with a clear show in front of a crowd of 300. The prize for winning this competition is the production of their 500 first albums in CD format. Have a Beer will be recorded in two days and contains 6 songs.
The band began to feel more confident on stage and the writing and compositions move to a higher level. The work led to the release of the second album Goodbye Money which contains 9 tracks. This quality production is due to the talent Ole, the guitar player of Eyeless. This album sounds much more professional than the first one. Goodbye Money allowed Highway the distribution of the two albums by Brennus Music and les-indépendants.com.

During the first part of 2009, HIGHWAY have participated and won Rock challenge organised by the pub " New Capricorne " in Sète . The first prize was to give a show in London at " the Duke of Connaught " pub- Windsor . You can find lot of photos of all these gigs on our myspace page.
Today, the band always hopes finding a biggest deal with a major and is preparing the recording of a third album (surely the best one) and a new series of gigs across France.

Originaires de Sète, le combo a été formé fin 99 par les frères Benjamin and Romain Chambert. Ils ont été rejoints repectivement par Guillem Ayral (guitare), JM Gantard (basse) et Benjamin Folch (chant). La formation a commencé à se faire la main dans les bars de la région en alternant reprises et compos.
Après le départ de Guillem, un an plus tard, le groupe participe aux Duels Rock, tremplin régional organisé sur la fameuse scène du Rockstore à Montpellier. A cette occasion, le guitariste Nicolas Thouraille assure l’interim. Les premiers fans faisant leur apparition, la formation continue à écumer les bars et salles de concert régionaux.
2002 sera une année charnière pour Highway. En effet, leur seconde participation aux Duels Rock est récompensée par une très belle victoire devant près de 300 spectateurs. Fort de ce premier prix, le groupe vit sa première expérience studio et 500 exemplaires de Have a Beer sortent de presse. Cet opus, enregistré en deux jours, contient 6 titres.
Nicolas Thouraille rejoint alors définitivement le groupe. La formation, stabilisée, peut peaufiner ses compos principalement sur scène. En 2004, dans le studio de Ole, guitariste d’Eyeless, ce travail aboutit à l’enregistrement des 9 titres contenus dans Goodbye Money. Arrangements musicaux plus riches, vocaux mieux maîtrisés et sonorités plus brutes font de cet album une œuvre plus représentative du groupe, plus proche de ses performances scéniques. Cet album permit à Highway de décrocher un contrat avec Brennus Music et chez les-indépendants.com assurant la distribution des deux disques sur internet.

Au cours de l' année 2009, HIGHWAY participe et remporte le tremplin rock organisé au café concert le " New Capricorne " à Séte.Le premier prix fut un concert magique au Pub " The Duke of connaught " le 26 Juin 2009 à Windsor - Londres . Aujourd’hui, le groupe espère toujours décrocher un contrat avec un major et assurer des concerts de plus en plus nombreux, tout en préparant un troisième album.

En fait, on s'est déjà rencontré, et j'ai même Goodbye Money !!! on s'était croisé à la sortie du concert de Whitesnake à Ramonville y'a 2 ou 3 ans. Si vous cherchez des concerts sur paris, essayez de tapper au pacific rock (http://www.myspace.com/pacificrockproduction), une salle qui s'est ouverte avec que du bon rock !! @+ les mecs Rock On' !!!!
