HIGHWAY is an hard-rock n’ roll band whose musical influences come from such legends as AC/DC, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, ZZ Top, Guns n’Roses or Aerosmith.

The band comes from Sète, in south of France, and was created by two brothers Ben and Romain Chambert (respectively Guitars and Drums). JM Gantard (bass) and Benjamin Folch (vocals) joined the crew the same year. They started touring the local clubs with repeats of classics of Rock’n’Roll.

Concerts were starting to attract more people and the first fans made their appearance.

In 2002, for their second participation at the Duels Rock, in the famous club of Montpellier “The Rockstore”, Highway takes the first place with a clear show in front of a amazing crowd. The prize for winning this competition is the production of their first album called: “Have a Beer!”

The band began to feel more confident on stage and the writing and compositions move to a higher level. The work led to the release of the second album “Goodbye Money” in 2005 in Ole Duke Hill (Eyeless, Mudweiser) n’ Matt E. West‘s “Trendkill Studios”.

“Goodbye Money” allowed the distribution of the two albums by “Brennus Music” (www.brennus-music.com) and “Les Indiz” (www.indiz.fr)

In 2009, HIGHWAY have participated and won Rock challenge organized by the pub “New Capricorn “in Sète. The first prize was to give a series of shows in London.

Today, the band always hope finding a biggest deal, is preparing the recording of a third album in 2011 (surely the best one!!) and a new series of gigs across France n’ Europe with their new bass player Sam Marshal, a pure rock n’ roller!

2011…back in the Trendkill Studios, where HIGHWAY recorded his new album called “United States Of Rock’n’ Roll”.

This record is due to a very hard and long work, in which every member of the band has put all his energy, faith and passion. This album is, by far, the most accomplished, powerful and devastating of the crew.

Today, the band is highly motivated to find the good deal, touring more and more across the world and to spread the good words of Heavy Rock.

HIGHWAY est une formation de "hard-rock n’ roll" dont les influences majeures ont été puisées chez AC/DC, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, ZZ Top, Guns n’ Roses ou encore Aerosmith.

Originaires de Sète, le combo a été formé fin 99 par les frères Ben (Guitares) et Romain Chambert (Batterie). Ils ont été rejoints par J.M Gantard (basse) et Benjamin Folch (chant).

2002 sera une année charnière pour Highway, après quelques changements de guitariste rythmique, leur seconde participation au tremplin rock régional « les Duels Rock » (dans la célèbre salle du Rockstore à Montpellier), est récompensée par la première place !
Le groupe vit alors sa première expérience studio et 500 exemplaires de « Have a Beer ! » sortent de presse.

En 2004, dans les « Trendkill studio » de Ole Duke Hill (ex-guitariste d’Eyeless) et Matt E. West, ce travail aboutit à l’enregistrement de « Goodbye Money ».
Arrangements musicaux plus riches, vocaux maîtrisés et sonorités plus brutes font de cet album une œuvre plus représentative du groupe et de la puissance de ses performances scéniques.
Cet album permit à Highway de décrocher un contrat avec « Brennus Music » (www.brennus-music.com) et « les indiz » (www.indiz.fr) assurant la distribution des deux disques.

Au cours de l’année 2009, HIGHWAY participe et remporte le tremplin rock organisé dans le club le "New Capricorne" à Sète. Le premier prix fut une série de concerts dans des clubs Londoniens.

En Juin 2010, J.M, bassiste historique du groupe, présent depuis le tout début de la formation, décide de quitter le groupe pour les classiques divergences musicales.
Il est immédiatement remplacé par Sam Marshal, fan du groupe depuis des années et excellent bassiste 1000% rock n' roll !!

2011…retour au studio “Trendkill” où HIGHWAY accouche de « United States Of Rock’n’Roll ».
Ce nouvel album est le fruit d’un très long travail dans lequel le groupe a mis toutes ses tripes, toute sa foi et toute sa passion dans sa musique.

Cet opus est de loin l’album le plus abouti, le plus puissant et le plus dévastateur de la formation !

Aujourd’hui, HIGHWAY est plus motivé que jamais pour décrocher le « big deal », assurer des concerts de plus en plus nombreux et répandre la bonne parole du heavy rock !

Préparez-vous à une grosse dose de rock n’ roll et à des shows incendiaires en 2011/2012 pour la tournée promo de UNITED STATES OF ROCK’N’ROLL!!
