With a collective 35 years of musical experience, Only Midnight is a welcomed blend of raw talent, sonic exploration and musicianship. In their six years together, they've constantly been described as being at the forefront of a new evolution in modern rock and popular music alike. The group is comprised of four extraordinary young men who share a common respect for rock greats such as Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam, along with an eclectic love for music as a whole, no matter what the genre. With a broad spectrum of sound and subject matter, Only Midnight's music feeds the hunger of those on the prowl for a band that will finally make them listen again.
When the band originally formed in Raleigh, NC in late 2000, the chemistry that sparked between the four members was instantaneous. The result was a new energy that reaches the core of fans and fans to be through integrity, intensity, and edge. Two brilliantly diverse vocalists and songwriters work together to generate soaring melodies that weave through an amazingly exotic and electrifying rhythm section. The sound that emerges is an intimate combination of arresting lyrics and intense arrangements that leaves listeners with a sense that every note is important and every lyric is undeniably honest.
In January 2005, Only Midnight signed with JKH Entertainment, an independent label out of NYC. After months of pre-production in their home studio in Raleigh, the band traveled to Miami to begin recording their debut album "The Answer," which was co-produced by Ray Contreras and the members of Only Midnight. The album is a collection of fourteen tracks that fuse classic rock sensibilities with everything from eastern and electronic music to Latin and classical influences. "We fought hard every step of the way to create an unconventional, yet universal rock record." After spending six weeks at Hitmasters Miami alongside engineer Carlos Alvarez, the band returned to Raleigh to finish post-production and begin preparations for their first major tour.
Since Only Midnight's greatest love has always been the stage, they were eager to get back on the road to introduce "The Answer" to new audiences. Local North Carolina hotspots such as The Cat's Cradle and Lincoln Theatre are frequent homes for their music, as well as other clubs and concert halls spanning the country. They've shared the stage with many of today's hottest national and regional acts, including Maroon 5, Brendan James, and Carbon Leaf. Ending each set with an ever-growing fan base, Only Midnight holds nothing back in their pursuit to break down the barrier between artist and listener. The energy of their live show always fills the room with a life that demands any audience's attention.
