Madonna, Celine Dion (as an artist AND a mother), my own love of this crazy addiction we call music!:)
Sounds Like
I feel that I sound like "me"...but comparatives of my voice and performances have been: Madonna...on some of my more lower register vocals i've been matched up in the "comparison category" with Karen Carpenter.
Amy LynMartin feels "most at home" inside singing songs that stem from the heart, mind, body, and soul. Her lyrics and voice strongly exemplify various moods, feelings, and life experiences in ways that are easy to comprehend. They have true meaning and the ability to reach folks from all walks of life.
For all of us there is this certain "comfort" inside when we feel understood...justified...HUMAN. Amy's songs remind us of that and will continue to do so in every way imaginable over time. They also teach us that it's ok to be imperfect. At one moment in time what we might think is failure or poor decision making...may later turn out to be, in another form, something positive and liberating. We just have to allow our strength and love for "self" to take over the wheel so we're heading in the right direction.
Amy wants others to "feel" when they tune in to her melodies. Whether we laugh, cry, scream, smile, become angry...or even feel ourselves nearing that intense state of euphoria; the one that makes us feel we're capable of "achieving the impossible".....that is what life is all about...that is what MUSIC is all about...it covers it all!
Again, it's being "human"...and we all, no matter from WHAT backgrounds we come from, share that commonality. It's real...it's tangible...it's universal.
