One Night Stand, the rockin' band from Illinois, debuted their CD at the Nashville Palace in Music City this weekend. The 10-song CD is being released through Colt Records, owned by J. K. Coltrain. One Night Stand performed two high-powered sets. They moved effortlessly from rock classics like "Sweet Home Alabama" to the sweet country sounds of Sugarland. They alternated with originals. "Thank God For Country Music" is the title track. I have a special interest in One Night Stand because their CD includes one of my songs: "I Looked Twice!" ONS is unique in that the band has three Mikes: Mike Garrison on lead guitar, Mike Ohlson on bass and Mike Cioni on drums. Dennis Lemmer plays rhythm. Everybody sings, but the focus is Aimee Jo Brandner, their female vocalist. Aimee Jo's energy drives the band. She prowls the stage, singing and dancing her way through costume changes while working the audience. One Night Stand puts people on the dance floor.
