About me:

On The Fifth Day's Mission Statement is as follows:
* To protect, nurture, love, and spay/neuter: Unwanted, abused, injured, and/or homeless animals
* To educate the public on animal matters, inhumane practices, and how to help
* To promote harmony amongst people by working side by side for the animals' sake; in particular, the Deaf and hearing cultures, and the chemically imbalanced population
* To find companion animals hand-picked homes and to provide a safe haven for those we don't
* To return any animal to their natural habitat when possible
In short: To love animals and bring people together in doing so.

"As a community, as a society, as caregivers to species who cannot yell out, “Please help me,” we can no longer ignore the egregious state of animal overpopulation and abuse in Tennessee. We have planned and prepared. Now, it's time to build. Please help us so they can come be loved and protected just as they were....on the fifth day." Jen Flatt Hilsher - Founder/Director

OTFD building the largest sanctuary in Tennessee!

Our 2009 goal; to transition to a facility to handle the increasing homeless and neglected. The first level to raise is $30,000 for the initial land. OTFD's next goal is $100,000 to build "The Ark" (The Animal Rescue Keystone) - the first dog run, administrative building and fencing. Please think of the animals and give. We need you.

Who I'd like to meet:

Volunteers. People who care about our mission. Other animal welfare activists. People who love animals. Our profile song is the title track from Kira Small's 2006 Offrow Records release "Love In A Dangerous World". For more about Kira or to purchase her CD, please visit www.kirasmall.com
