Against all the odds, "Gator" defied all of the critics and naysayers to become what some say the toughest man who ever stepped into the ring. Not the best fighter but the toughest. ON THE ROPES This is the incredible true story of Chicago South Sider Craig Gator Bodzianowski, who made one of the greatest professional sports comebacks ever. Gator takes his never quit attitude that he got from his father into the boxing ring and compiles an amazing amateur record. Soon he turns pro and resolves to become the cruiserweight champion of the world. He meets and falls in love with Sheila, a beautiful girl whos athletic enough to keep pace with him. While Gator winning record continues to grow, so does his ego. Once Sheila realizes hes cheating on her, she dumps him. Gators father, his coach and his brother, Billy, warn him he had better straighten out his wild ways or suffer his first knockout. Only after Billys accidental death does Gator refocus and rededicate himself to winning the title. Everything changes when he has a horrific motorcycle accident. After several operations his lower right leg has to be amputated. The doctors say his boxing career is over but he will be able to jog again on prosthesis. Gators friends, trainers and family are devastated. But Gator knows what no one else knows. He knows that if he can jog, he can run. And if he can run, he can box. Through harrowing pain, dedication and focus, Gator makes a remarkable recovery. Sheila sees the changes in him and comes back to support him. Defying all his critics, Gator fights to get back in the ring and after many setbacks, makes his professional comeback and wins. When Gators critics charge that the fight was fixed, the cry goes out to revoke his license. Gator proves them wrong again by taking on all comers and compiling an impressive winning record. STEVE WILBURN was graduated from Columbia College with honors in 1988 in film & video productions. From there he went on to become a sound engineer for three years at the Zenith/db Sound working on dozens of feature films, documentaries, film shorts and hundreds of commercials. Then going freelance, Steve worked on dozens more film shorts of his own and friends. Getting involved in feature films again, Steve worked as an associate producer on Butch Camp in 1996. In 1999 and 2000 Steve helped produced two low-budget independent films for Artistry & Rhythm Film works, "Convergence with Angels" and "Silence Over Exile." "Convergence with Angels" was voted the best American Dogma film ever made.
Steve started writing back in college and began to hone his writing skills as a freelancer, writing many film shorts and television proposals for producers. Steve became a feature film writer in 1997. Since then he has written four screenplays. In 1999, Steve became a board member of the Chicago Screen writers Network on which he still serves and leads meetings, screenplay discussions, and gives screenplay feedback.
Steve started Windy City Images in 2004 with the idea of having an LA type production company by assembling the best film makers in Chicago to make top quality films. Windy City Images goal is to bring back feature film making to Chicago. Not to just be a location for LA films but an independent creative and financial entity.IToons EXECUTIVE PRODUCER:
DAN VOGEL has a bachelor degree from Columbia College in Chicago. He left Chicago after graduation and moved to Los Angeles where he immediately started working as assistant director for feature films such as Relentless Total Exposure Maniac Cop, Illicit Behavior and the television series Silk Stalkings. Mr. Vogel then took the job as production manager for Dry Pen Productions where he polished his skills in the business end of the industry. Mr. Vogel was offered several film projects after that point including The Dryden Chronicles Bobby Holiday, and City Heat. Mr. Vogel then took the position as line producer for The Movie Group where he excelled to the point that he was offered a producer position with TNT producing made for TV movies such as Four Eyes and Six Guns, and Mozart While working as a freelancer producer for TNT, Mr. Vogel produced films for companies like BBC and Talbin Entertainment.
In 2000 Mr. Vogel decided to move back to Chicago and work on the television series Early Edition Mr. Vogel has been involved in several feature films in Chicago such as High Fidelity, Just Visiting, Barbershop and Road To Perdition. While in Chicago Mr. Vogel realized the lack of feature films in the city and opened up his own production company dedicated to bringing independent film projects back to Chicago. Mr. Vogel oversees all production in Digital Media Group and is responsible for writing and producing all of their projects. Mr. Vogel has also done some commercial work for Nike, Carmax and Sears. Mr. Vogel is a member of the IFP (Independent Film Project) and gives lectures around town for Columbia College and independent film groups when he is available. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Executive Producer: STEVEN A. JONES spent twelve years directing a large number of nationally aired television commercials.
In creative collaboration with John McNaughton, Steve has been credited as producer or co-producer on seven feature films, and has also produced two features for other directors. A former Rock drummer, he served as one of the composers on two of the films as well. Steve has written or co-written the screenplays Mid life, Reno Wings, Killer. app Bloodhound, Death of a Tenor Man, Once There Were Giants and Thomas.
The controversial Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer was McNaughton and Jones first feature. Steve served as Producer and composer in this critically acclaimed film.
The Borrower, a science fiction/fantasy produced in 1988, the second pairing of Jones and McNaughton, won awards at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain. Steve co-produced the film and collaborated on the score.
Eric Bogosians live performance of his one man show Sex, Drugs, Rock and Roll was the subject of a feature film in 1990 co-produced by Steve.
In 1991 Steve was co-producer on Universal Mad Dog and Glory starring Robert De Niro, Bill Murray and Uma Thurman, with Martin Scorcese and Barbara De Fina producing and McNaughton directing. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 1993.
Normal Life was produced in 1995 and opened at the Sundance Film Festival in 1996. The film starred Luke Perry and Ashley Judd. Once again, McNaughton directed and Jones co-produced.
Tanya Wexler directorial debut, Finding North was produced in 1997 by Steve Jones and Stephen Dyer.
Wild Things was produced in 1997-98 and starred Kevin Bacon, Matt Dillon, Neve Campbell, Bill Murray and Theresa Russell. It was produced by Steve Jones and Rodney Liber, directed by John McNaughton. Steve also directed some of the second unit.
Steve produced Lawrence Melm which filmed in December of 1998 and was written and directed by Steve Conrad.
Speaking of Sex was filmed in 2000 and stars James Spader, Bill Murray, Melora Walters, Jay Mohr, Lara Flynn Boyle, Megan Mullally and Catharine Hara. John McNaughton directed, Steve co-produced, and directed the second unit.In 2001 Steve Executive produced Bruce Terris short film Flying, which was a finalist at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival.
Steve Directed 45 minutes of visuals for the summer 2003 Styx Main Event tour, along with videos for the songs Kiss Your Ass Goodbye, Yes I Can and Styx and friends live at Chess Studios. Steve also directed The Styx video I Am The Walrus featured on VH1 and IToons ..
Who I'd like to meet: PRODUCER, JEFFREY LIBERMAN Was Born in the entertainment/film Mecca of the world,
Burbank, Calif. Jeff spent his childhood literally playing In and amongst the great studio
industry back lots Warner Bros, Universal studios, Disney studios etc. With everyone around
him family and friend alike in the Business, very early it seemed inevitable to him, that
like Fred his older brother, some how Film /video production would eventually be his passion
in life. In 1976 After moving with his family to a resort community in Western Arizona it
was the start of a 26-year detour around the corporate film industry. After high school
graduation, Jeff left for a long educational journey around the world. He attained his
Associate arts degree in Van Nuys, Calif. Then in 1983 moved to a sleepy South Pacific
tourist village of Kailua -Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. In the following years he raced
all over the world. Three {top 40} Hawaiian Iron man finishes. Training, Racing and Working
with The Kona based Team Health Hawaii. Competing in more than 30 Triathlons and 11
marathons and with scores of assorted race finishes, All the time traveling around the world
with this elite team as Athlete/projects coordinator. He also attended the University of
Hawaii. {Studying exercise physiology} Afterwards he spent next three years Fulfilling his
contractual obligations to Dr.Ron Duvendack. Working in the holistic health industry at
Prevention Medical in Huntington Beach, Ca. Over the years He has traveled the long way
around the world , and persevered through the good and the bad. He continued his real world
education. Then in the 90's The Independent film industry appeared before him, this is what
he has been looking for. Film making became his obsession. He studied and learned from every
source possible. Independent Film Production is his Passion. In 2005 Jeff moved to Chicago.
Then through serindipity, he met his Mentor and friend,Screen writer Steve Wilburn the
author of "On the Ropes" the film. Jeff has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash
and deferments for the film.This earned him his first Producer credit. With it he is
determined to document his lifetime of diverse experiences on film. In 2006 Jeff started his
own production company : Partners in Perception films . Jeff enjoys extensive connections,
friends, family in the corporate and independent film industry. Jeffrey has great networking
and people skills and is a great asset. It is with enthusiasm that he throws himself into
his passion. Presently - "On the Ropes" the film. Destined to be the new inspiration
standard in film. Dr. Ben Franklin said "energy and persistence can accomplish anything"

Spring is here and so are the butterflies! This week I have a gallery of a particular group of butterflies called Brushfoots. Brushfoots are the most commonly known and encountered of the large colorful butterflies (excluding the swallowtails) found in Florida and the Americas. These include the monarchs, fritillaries, buckeyes, and the viceroy below (who has nearly identical markings as the toxic monarch butterfly) to keep it from being eaten by birds.... cool trick, huh? :-)

As you may or may not know I was asked to write for an amazing project called quite simply, Barstow. I was introduced to Robert by a mutual friend and the whole thing snowballed. The collection of information has been complete for some time and we are well into compiling it into a readable format. If you"re a fan of Hunter Thompson"s journalism and the styles of Anthony Burgess or Chuck Palahniuck you"ll love Barstow.
Robert"s main stipulation for me, if I was to take on the project, was to keep things as real as he remembers them. What happened is not for people who are easily offended or of high moral constitutions. The fact is that some of the events are downright horrific but Robert survived and made it back to Los Angeles.
I thought that seeing as though the website is now up and running I"d let you know about it. Robert will be posting there intermittently but mainly it will be a place for us to display excerpts and discuss the details of what happened to Robert and how we pulled all the information together. It took a lot of time and hard work but the project is finally getting near to something resembling completion.
I can't wait to get the CD done and do some shows where I can hopefully meet some of you.
I wish I had a time machine and could blast forward and start doing shows tomorrow.

The new material we are working on will have a guitarmony sound and will require three players. We are looking for one player who lives in the Detroit Metro area.
What we are looking for:
1. Age 18 to 27 2. Must be a great player. 3. Studio and Live experience a plus. 4. Style of music is pop/rock/alternative/punk 5. Style is a cross between 30 Seconds To Mars, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Muse, Garbage, and The Used with strong commercial appeal. 6. Lead or Backing vocal capabilities a plus. 7. Ability to write guitar parts for existing melody lines. 8. Must have time to make a commitment and be available for studio and live shows. Currently rehearsals are scheduled on Sunday between 1:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. 9. Will require learning a certain amount of filler cover material. 10. If you have drug or alcohol related issues this probably wouldn't work for you.
A label showcase is scheduled for late February - so time is of the essence.
