I've only ever had 3 mobile phone numbers - I very rarely change my number.
I'm a lot heavier than I look, and no-one ever believes me when I tell them my weight.
I'm sponsoring a tiger in SW Nepal - I'm doing my bit to try and ensure their continued survival!
I can recite the complete lyrics to 'Eye Of The Tiger' and 'Bat Out Of Hell' from memory. Every last word.
If I were to count on both hands the number of times I've been utterly drunk, I'd have a few fingers left over at the end.
I don't drink tea or coffee.
The only film of Quentin Tarantino's that I've ever seen is Reservoir Dogs - and that was only in early 2008...
At my height, it's rare for me to meet anyone who's taller than I am. One of the tallest people I know is actually - me.
If I had to pick five fictional people to be on my side in a bar fight, I'd choose John McClane from Die Hard, Rocky Balboa, Toby Wong from Drive, Ryu from Street Fighter, and Optimus Prime from TransFormers.
Socializing, of course - always good to be around people. Some of the best times to be had are with friends, be they out in the local pub or even just watching a movie or something at home.
I'm reading quite a lot just now; have dozens of unread books on my shelf, and more still to get! Reading all sorts of stuff at the moment, from thrillers to autobiographies to historical pieces.
I draw and paint whenever possible, too - you can now see some of my work in the Pics section, and there'll be more added in time! I'm working on new pieces as I type, primarily pixel-based work, and some of it is up now - check it out!
Movies and music - see below...
Music
I'm cool with most kinds of music, really. I don't particularly like punk or techno or any of that kind of crap, but otherwise, I'm easy.
All sorts of singers and bands have made it into my CD collection. from home-grown Scottish talent such as KT Tunstall and Runrig, to the far corners of God's green earth... though why we call it 'green' when around 70% of the earth's surface is comprised of water (which isn't green, fact fans!)is beyond me...
Anyway... Queen, Aerosmith, Bryan Adams, Michael Jackson, The Calling, Stan Bush, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Paramore, Oasis, Coldplay, Belinda Carlisle, Whitesnake, Meat Loaf, Survivor, KT Tunstall, Tina Turner, Nazareth, Nickelback, Travis, John Lennon, Stereophonics, Kaiser Chiefs, Idlewild, Runrig, Evanescence, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Fleetwood Mac, Elvis......
Movies
I probably watch too many movies! I really need to get out more!
... Air Force One, Assassins, the Austin Powers trilogy, The Aviator (not the DiCaprio one), Backdraft, the Back To The Future trilogy, Batman, Batman Returns, Beverly Hills Cop trilogy, Big Trouble In Little China (cinematic masterpiece!), Blade, Blazing Saddles, Braveheart, The Breakfast Club, Brotherhood Of The Wolf, Commando, Conan The Barbarian, Con Air, Cop Land, Crying Freeman, Desert Heat, Die Hard series, Dirty Harry, Dog Soldiers, Drive, Dumb & Dumber, Enter The Dragon, Forrest Gump, The Fugitive, Ghostbusters (classic), Gladiator, The Goonies, The Green Mile, Hard Target, The Hitcher (absolute brilliance), Independence Day, The Jackal, The Jacket, Jurassic Park, Kiss Of The Dragon, Leon, Lethal Weapon, Liar Liar, The Mechanik, Men Of War, Million Dollar Baby, Missionary Man (no, it's not a porno!), the Naked Gun trilogy, Over The Top, Phone Booth, The Pianist, Platoon, Predator, the Rambo series, Ransom, Red Scorpion, The Remains Of The Day, Renaissance Man, Reservoir Dogs, The Rock, the Rocky series (except Rocky V, that was shit!), The Running Man, Saints & Soldiers, Schindler's List, Se7en, The Silence Of The Lambs, Sleepers, Street Fighter II, Superman, Superman II, Superman Returns, Terminator 1 & 2, The Thing, Transformers, Twins, Universal Soldier, Unforgiven, The Usual Suspects, the X-Men trilogy... and more still!!
Television
Don't watch much in the way of television these days - not enough on that appeals to me. I really just watch the news and maybe the odd movie or documentary or whatever catches my eye, but that's about it... TV has REALLY dumbed down - it ain't what it used to be!
Pretty much the only exceptions are Friends (when it's being rerun), The Simpsons (obviously!) and Two & A Half Men (sometimes).
The A-Team still rules though! "I ain't gettin' on no plane, Hannibal - not with that crazy foo' Murdock!"
Genius, so it is. Mr. T is a GOD.
Books
Ian Rankin, Dean Koontz, John Grisham, Karin Slaughter, John Connolly, Tess Gerritsen, Lorenzo Carcaterra, Douglas Adams, Kate Mosse (not the 'model'!), Karen Rose... most decent crime/thriller fiction writers, really.
As for non-fiction... the autobiographies of Michael J. Fox and Christopher Reeve were great reads. John Grisham's The Innocent Man was good, and also Bruce Thomas's book - Bruce Lee: Fighting Spirit. I'm reading through Schindler's Ark just now - gonna watch the film after it, to compare the two...
Heroes
Christopher Reeve - for his selfless, unwavering dedication to progression in the field of spinal cord research, knowing his work was more likely to benefit others than himself.
Bruce Lee - almost single-handedly turned around Hollywood's views on racism, proving that a non-white actor could carry the lead role in a blockbuster movie.
I live in central Scotland; have done so all my life. I'm in full-time work, but I don't wanna bore you with all the banal details of that - who actually goes into detail about their work on here anyway, unless their work involves something other than doing a regular 9 till 5 or something similar? I'm looking for new employment just now anyway, so I'll maybe talk about that once I get something. Better not be too derogatory about the current management - might get kneecapped if they were to read the honest truth, haha!
I have several pursuits outside work that take up a fair bit of my time. I'm doing a lot of reading at the moment; there are a lot of unread books cluttering up my shelves, but I'm getting through them! I spend too much time watching DVDs. My DVD collection currently numbers around 270, and I haven't watched them all yet! All sorts of movie genres in there - comedy, drama, action, thriller, sci-fi, and more. Music is another one...I don't have anywhere near as many CDs as I do DVDs, but I'll increase that collection too over time...
The pursuit that takes up the most time is art. I've been drawing since I was just a few years old, and have hardly stopped since. Sure, there've been a few lapses here and there, but overall it's been a near-constant fixation in my life. Much of it is done simply for myself, but over the last couple of years, I've begun doing work for friends. I've painted murals onto the bedroom walls of several friends' children, and though I haven't done any for a while now, I'm giving serious thought to doing it on a more full-time basis. However, a few weeks back, I was asked to paint two more canvas pics for friends at work who are expecting kids later in the year, so I've put together some preliminary sketches for them, and will begin putting together the actual paintings shortly, time permitting. Photos of previous paintings are up - check out the Pics section! I also do a fair bit of pixel work just now (primarily sprite-based), although I'm also working on some other pieces as well. I've been taking photos of some of the buildings and landmarks around town, with the intention of rendering them in pixel form for all eternity!
Other than that - well, I don't exercise anywhere near as much as I really should, mostly due to the fact that my work takes up so much of my time. I'm tall and slim, so I probably have an ideal build for swimming or running or a martial art or something like that. Regular exercise is a good thing, no? I need to build up the ol' musculature...
I don't smoke - never have, never will. I just do not see the appeal of puffing away on a pile of 'cancer sticks' - we're all gonna die sometime anyway, so why speed up the process? No drugs either - hell no! I do drink, though I was somewhat of a late starter! I hold my drink very well - as pretty much anyone who's been on a night out with me can probably attest, it takes an awful lot to get me drunk, and I've never, ever experienced a hangover...
Over the course of the last 4 or 5 months, I've been busy creating a series of pixel sprites based upon the many characters that have been played by Dolph Lundgren, in every film he's made to date. It started off with drawing some Drago sprites for a Rocky series I was working on, and then one day I posted one up on the chat forum at www.dolph-ultimate.com. It proved popular enough for other members to ask me to draw more sprites based upon other characters he's played, and gradually it escalated until I decided to tackle every movie in his resume. Now, I've done them all (well, all to date, anyway), and there are now 114 of them! I've submitted them all to the forum administrators, and they're now being used as avatars - go visit the site (www.dolph-ultimate.com), click on the forum link, and check some of them out!
1 - Dolph Lundgren - an unfairly underrated action movie star, and actually one of my favourite actors. Quite a few of his movies are in actual fact genuine little gems, and it'd be cool to shoot the breeze with him. Plus, how many other actors do you know with a Master's Degree in chemical engineering? Eh? Eh? EH?! Yeah.
2 - Mark Dacascos - see above. Minus the Master's Degree bit!
3 - Mr. T - come on, it's Mr. T!! Who doesn't love Clubber Lang and B.A. Baracus?! If you don't, then get the hell away from my page - I don't want to see your ugly face around here. I pity the fool who don't like him no Mr. T!!
4 - Leslie Nielsen - a brilliant comedy actor. His presence alone can make a film watchable (though I still refuse to watch Scary Movie 3 & 4!). He'd be a great laugh.
5 - Peter Cullen - the original, and still the best, voice of Optimus Prime. 'Nuff said.
6 - Jennifer Aniston - she seems to have had a pretty rough time over over the last couple of years, no thanks to the whole Brangelina fiasco, and seems to be a genuine, down-to-earth kind of gal, so this could make for an interesting discussion. The coffee's on me, Jen!
7 - Meat Loaf - saw him perform in May 2007 and it was a brilliant show, with ML giving us some great laughs to go with the great show. He's had quite the eventful (and difficult) life (I've read up on it), and it'd make for another engaging conversation.
8 - Alex Sim-Wise - she seems utterly mental, in a good fun way of course! Much laughter would be had!
Regular folks? Well, other pixel artists, for a start - I'm starting to expand the types of pixel art I draw, and would like to hear from other peeps who use this style as well. So check out my work and get in touch if you like it, folks!
All Mr. T fans are welcome!
Any MySpace users who live in or around Linlithgow and Edinburgh, Scotland.
Yeah I pretty much can't do anything because of it, whenever I'm not shooting, I'm on bedrest. I rarely go out, and when I do, I have to pack practically a whole pharmacies' worth of pills and other things in case I get flare ups. It sucks.
Well I have some conditions that have been causing me chronic pain on a daily basis for the past year and a half, but this week it has become a lot more severe for some reason. I usually feel like crap all the time, but now I just feel like an entire sewage plant.
Hey, I'm back in Cairo now. I've been here for more than a week. I'm really sick, though. I've got tonsillitis again and this time, I'm gonna get surgery to have my tonsils removed. The air in Cairo is so polluted... It really does a number on your health.
I'm great! And I'm definately anxious for the event! It's about time DL gets some more recognition around here. I hope a lot of people show up, don't want it to be a complete bust! :P
Yeh. :3 I think I added him cause I seen you had. xD;; Well, whatever. ^^; I love how he still has it, though. His stuff is still awesome. Probably could find his stuff online... So at least you'd have it. >. >
Hi there, I do a lot of abstract work, I'm going to put up a gallery in my profile eventually. Mostly black and white symmetrical stuff...
I also do edits to avatars and am trying to get hired at soliaonline. com and I volunteer at monagona. com. I used to have a pixeljoint account, but I never added to my gallery, I used to just observe wips and would join in on contests.
Thanks man! Hope the same is good with ya too dude. Right now, I'm just hoping I can save enough to get the SFIV Collector's Edition next month lol! XD
And yeah, hopefully I can do sprite and animate well enough to start on a new project or something in the future.
Stallone is directing a new Movie with Jason Stratham, Dolph Lundgren,Jet Li, Stallone is in it. Jean claude van Damme was offered a role, he denied, It comes out in 2010, They might Get Schwarzenegger for a small part. Also another universal Soldier Is in production with Van Damme and Lundgren! Cant wait for these two!
