Die OOMPH!-Story reicht zurück ins Schicksalsjahr 1989 und begann in ihrer Heimatstadt Wolfsburg. Aus Einflüssen von EBM, Rock und New Wave schufen die drei Einsteiger einen neuen Sound. Die drei Studioalben "Wahrheit oder Pflicht" (2004), Glaubeliebetod (2006) und Monster (2008) positionierten sich in schöner Regelmäßigkeit in der Spitzengruppe der deutschen Charts, ausverkaufte Tourneen, eine Nummer Eins Single mit "Augen Auf!", die Eins Live Krone als "beste Band des Jahres", 2007 den ersten Platz beim "Bundesvision Song Contest" und umjubelte Festivalauftritte inklusive. Und nicht zuletzt, sind OOMPH! die Inspirationsquelle für Größen wie Rammstein, Unheilig und Co. Mit dem im Mai 2012 erscheinenden Album "Des Wahnsinns Fette Beute" machen die Drei nun das Dutzend voll, elf Alben in 23 Jahren, das schaffen nur wenige Bands. Schon die erste Single "Zwei Schritte Vor" lässt mit seinen markanten Rhythmen sowie rotzigen Gitarren direkt aufhorchen. OOMPH! wagen eine rockige Zeitreise in die Sechziger Jahre. Der Song gibt den neuen frischen Wind des Albums perfekt wieder. Die Retro-Zitate im Chorus und die ansonsten moderne Ausrichtung ergeben eine äußerst spannende Mischung.

The OOMPH! story reaches back to the defining year 1989 and started in their hometown Wolfsburg. From influences like EBM, rock and new wave, the three rookies created a new sound. The three studio albums "Wahrheit oder Pflicht" ("Truth Or Dare", 2004), "Glaubeliebetod" ("Faithlovedeath", 2006) and "Monster" (2008) positioned themselves in the top bracket of the German charts with reliable regularity, including sold-out shows, No.1 single "Augen Auf!" ("Open Your Eyes"), renowned German radio award "Eins Live Krone" for „Best Band of the Year", first place in 2007's nationwide TV music contest "Bundesvision Song Contest" and celebrated festival shows. And not least, OOMPH! are a source of inspiration for the likes of Rammstein, Unheilig and more. With their album "Des Wahnsinns Fette Beute" ("Completely Nuts"), being released in May 2012, the three complete the dozen: eleven albums in 23 years – only few bands are capable of that. Already the first single "Zwei Schritte Vor" ("Two Steps Forward") makes us sit up straight away with its distinctive rhythms and snotty guitars. OOMPH! venture a rocking time travel to the sixties. The song perfectly conveys the album's fresh air. The retro quotes in the chorus and the otherwise modern direction make an extremely exciting mixture. The lyrics are about the world economic crisis and its insane excesses in the financial markets, and about the part banks, investors and politicians are playing. As entertaining as the songwriting process for the new album might have been – when it comes to contents, OOMPH! always get straight down to the nitty-gritty.
