Gli Oonar sono una band electro-rock italiana, nata nel
2003. Il loro nome proviene
dal greco antico “To Onar ” (“Il Sogno”), come riferimento ad una
celebre frase di Pindaro: “Il sogno di un'ombra è l'Uomo”.
Sono due principalmente le influenze che contraddistinguono il sound degli Oonar: le sonorità
dark-new wave (The Cure, Joy Division) e la musica elettronica
contemporanea. Va aggiunta inoltre la passione per il rock psichedelico e classico di gruppi come i Doors
ed i Rolling Stones.
Dopo numerose performance ed ore in studio gli Oonar hanno messo a punto un vasto repertorio di
brani originali sia in lingua inglese che in lingua italiana. La
band si esibisce costantemente dal vivo, recentemente ha partecipato alla rassegna Piper in
Rock, tenutasi nel celebre locale romano.
Gli Oonar sono stati ospiti della trasmissione Backstage Live di Music
Box.
Nel 2009 gli Oonar, con la collaborazione della Don't Call me Records
rilasciano il loro primo singolo, dal titolo “I Die for You”
disponibile su
iTunes
e su tutti i più importanti canali di diffusione digitale. Il brano è in rotazione
tutti i giorni su 100 radio locali italiane Gli Oonar stanno attualmente registrando il loro primo album!
Oonar is an Italian electro-rock band, born in 2003. Their name
comes from Greek “T? ??a? ” (“The Dream”), that refers to the
renowned Pindarus'
sentence “The shadow's dream is the Man”.
Oonar have two main influences: the dark-new wave sound (The Cure, Joy Division)
and electronic contemporary music; they are mixed up to a classic and psychedelic rock sound of
bands such us The Doors and The Rolling Stones.
Oonar played several live venues and spent many hours in studio to build a large repertory of
original songs, whose lyrics are written both in English and Italian. Recently Oonar played at one
of the most celebrated clubs in Italy, that is Piper Club in Rome. In the
end of 2008, Oonar were guests of Backstage Live TV show, broadcasted on Sky Television for
Music Box channel.
Oonar have just released their new single “I Die for You”, available on
iTunes and many other digital stores. That song is daily aired on 100 radio stations in Italy At the moment, Oonar are actually recording their first album!
