About me: “Reaching out to the broken orphans of Ukraine with Open Arms by providing loving, stable support through which they can begin new lives of hope, dreams, and healing in their Heavenly Father.”
There are over 100,000 orphans living in orphanages in Ukraine. When these orphans "graduate," anywhere from age 14-17, most have no place to go and end up on the street, many turning to drugs, alcohol, crime and prostitution as means of survival. For past few years God has allowed us to work with the beautiful children of the Pravda orphanage and this work is far from finished. The ministry of Open Arms is one based, not solely on a program, but primarily on our relationships with the children. We have gotten to know these children more and more each trip, and each time our vision becomes a little clearer in how we can best love and care for them. A large part of our ministry is providing a home that is a place where they feel like family and know that they are safe, cared for and loved. We are also making weekly visits to the orphanage to continue our ministry there, both to the orphans of Pravda as well as the director and teachers. Our ultimate goal is to show them the love of God who calls each one of them to come as they are and find comfort in His arms.
The problem is overwhelming, but you can be a part of the solution. Any size donation will help us get closer to our goal; can help affect the lives of these children.
Open Arms has many hopes and dreams for the children of Pravda as well as many plans and goals to help these dreams become reality. Our goals are big, but we trust in a God who can provide everything we need and more to allow us to carry out our ministry to these kids. We cannot do this on our own. Any amount you can give will help us reach this goal and bring God's love to the otherwise forgotten orphans. Checks can be made out to Open Arms Ukraine and mailed to P.O. Box 277, San Lorenzo, CA 94580-0277. We are also in need of people who want to partner with us in this ministry by financially supporting us on a monthly basis. Open Arms would love to see you getting involved in our ministry by helping to raise support. I might as well come without thinking. I have a wedding in Dnipro & a photshoot in Crimea at the beginning of July. & at the end of it I am hoping to finally go to Moldova (God willing). Other than that - there's no plans that I have had made. The camp is in July, right? Maybe I'll just come out for a visit...

hey guys!! just read the update and from what meliss has been telling me, sounds like God has some amazing work planned to be done through yall...i love hearing about it!!! i am sure meliss told yall, but i got to work with sasha and xenya and pasha for the past two weeks - they're incredible and SO excited about pravda, too!!! God bless you guys - i hope to make my way back over to pravda soon with my husband. :)
