About me:
Open Books is a collectively owned bookstore offering a variety of new and used books. We offer publications in all genres, including fiction, non-fiction, children's books, and a Spanish language section. We also carry zines and magazines on a wide array of topics. Our bookstore serves as the physical location for Pensacola's Books to Prisoners program, a non-profit organization that sends free reading and educational material to inmates in Florida prisons. Those interested in participating should stop by and visit during open hours or on Tuesdays after 6 PM. Our store hours are from 12 till 5 PM Tuesday through Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday. Remember that we are run by volunteers, so if you're coming from far away you might want to call in advance to make sure we didn't close early. Open Books is located at 4115 Barrancas Avenue in Warrington across from the Hip Pocket Deli. Feel free to contact us with any questions. (850) 453-6774Who I'd like to meet:

The best things in life don’t come fast or free,
But sometimes my impatience makes me cheat.
Though I know I’m wrong, trying to rush things along,
I get mad when outcomes are incomplete.
The purpose I serve is much more than my own,
And Nature’s clock ticks much slower than mine.
I can gripe and pout or just wait the thing out,
For the Most High works on It’s own time.
I can have love, prosperity, and peace
And all the things that make it joyful to live.
Sometimes money can’t pay for those treasures—
Only my patience and willingness to give.
We are all farmers of the crops of our destiny,
Semi-conscious of the psychological seeds we sow.
So to yield the best return, we must learn
To give things time and let them grow.
