About me:

Open Doors is a service located in Brisbane for young people between 12 -18 years of age. It is a safe and friendly space where like-minded LGBT young people and their friends can meet and socialize with one another without fear of being judged for their sexuality. We always have heaps of different things happening at Open Doors, yet essentially we provide individual intervention through counselling and support for young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, or are experiencing difficulties at home or feeling isolated and confused. We're located in Fortitude Valley, which is really central to buses and trains so it's easy to get here. We can also come and meet with you. It's free and confidential just give us a call first! Who I'd like to meet:

Open Doors drop-in for LGBT young people under 18 and their friends, Wednesdays from 1:30 to 6:30pm and Fridays from 12.30pm to 4.30pm and on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 3pm to 5pm for young transpeople and their families. There is also a new social group starting on the 16th July for LGBT young people who are 18 to 24, every second thursday 1pm to 5pm

Get to meet and socialize with other young people in a safe and friendly environment.

Come in if...

∇You're a young person in Queensland/Brisbane who identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (lgbt)

∇You're a friend or family member of the LGBT community.

∇You're part of a support network for LGBT young people across QLD.

    Purpose

    We are studying the types of goals that people pursue within their romantic relationships and how these goals might be linked to behaviour and satisfaction. I am sampling same-sex and other sex-attracted young people to help uncover how the area of social space an individual occupies interacts with the types of relationship goals they pursue.
