Welcome to Open Hand Records.

     We are a D.I.Y. record label and collective based in Massachusetts. All music, free and otherwise, can be found on our WEBSITE.
     The bands you love are poor as fuck. Listen to their music and buy their shit. Go see them rock out in your friends' basements. Support your scene or there won't be one.

I took most of this from the Quote Unquote Records myspace. It seemed applicable.

FAQ 1: "Will you release my music?"
Sorry, but probably not. As much as we would love to release all of the music our friends and fellow musicians make, we are a very young label, and we are still grappling with trying to release music that we've been thinking about releasing for a while. The good news is that we don't own the idea of putting up music online for a suggested donation, so you could do this all yourself! That would probably even be more fun than running around trying to find some stupid label to release your music.

FAQ 2: "Will you listen to my music?"
Always. Send us links, demos, CDs, podcasts, whatever. We love new music, and although we may not have the means or capacity to release music from every/any band that sends us a demo, we are always interested in listening.

FAQ 3: "Why ask for donations?"
We ask for donations because we feel that the bands and artists up there are worth something. We only release music from bands that we feel meet our two requirements: Good music, and good people. We believe that every band and artist on our label deserves some amount of support and respect, be it a donation, or simply a listen. But please donate if you can. The prices for donations are not high and we are appreciative of each one.
