Smokey’s Bar & Grill “Cover Band Challenge" every Monday through August 3! Up to three bands will compete each Monday night for 8 weeks at 8:00 pm for a chance to win $500 at the finals held on Friday, August 21. Each band will play a short 20 - 30 minute set. Judging is all about quality, not how many people you bring! The winner will also get four paid gigs on Friday nights over the next 6 months! YOUR BAND MUST PRE-REGISTER to compete on a Monday night. Open Mic/Jam at Smokey's Bar & Grill - Come join us for open mic night every Monday in Mesa from 8:00 to 12:00. Smokey's is located on the north side of Main St. just west of Gilbert Rd. in Mesa. Hosted by Bill Ludlow, vocal and instrument mics are provided along with a house drum set, guitar amplifiers, Yamaha keyboard, full stage light show, PA system with monitors, and electric or acoustic guitars if needed. Bands are welcome. Signup begins at 7:30 until the list is full. Each performer is allowed three songs or maximum 15 minutes unless the schedule allows for more. Smokey's also has great food, pool tables and darts. 21 and older only.

Open Mic/Jam at The Detour in Chandler, 6403 W Chandler Blvd, on the south side of Chandler Blvd between Kyrene and I-10. Same setup as Smokey's above. Hosted by Bill Ludlow from 9:00 to 1:00.
Phoenix Heat Magazine (formerly Fast Lane) Karaoke Contest at The Fox & Hound in Gilbert Tuesday nights at approximately 9:00 through July 14! Three contestants each week will advance to the location finals onTuesday, July 21. One winner will advance to the city finals and compete for a $500 grand prize.
WEDNESDAYS
Acoustic open mic/jam at Smokey's Bar & Grill. Congas, bongos, percussion, PA with monitors, plus 6 and 12 string acoustic guitars provided if needed. Perform solo or bring your band and perform "unplugged." Hosted by John Wilkes from 7:00 to 11:00
