Maybe Next Time
Open Season was formed 1998, originally called Braker Onenine. We ultimately decided that Open Season was more fitting of the sound that we were starting to produce. Open Season has had the same members throughout the history of the band which adds to the coherance of the music. Our goal is to create meaningful music with an abusive emotional drive, mixing aspects of metal and melody. The turning point for Open Season started with the song Ball & Chain. Prior to that, our songs were still in a maturing state. Though we always hope to be in a maturing state, Ball & Chain is when we started producing the sound that encompases Open Season. Following Ball & Chain came Rock Bottom and Back Home, which recieved top 5 in a world-wide songwriting competition for VH1.
We, the members, have been best friends ever since we were little kids. We grew up in the small town of Storm Lake, Iowa (hence the song Small Town) The band is made up of Josh Quirin: Lead singer & Rhythm Guitar, Justin Walsh: Lead Guitar & Harmony singer, Nick Moodie: Bassist, Brandon Berkland: Drums, and Al Keller: Power vocals. Josh Quirin is 22 years old and the rest of the band is a year older, meaning that the band was 14 and 15 when we started. We've come a long way and hope to continue writing the best music we can, and gain as many fans as possible. We are currently getting ready to record our last 5 tracks for the CD so stick around.
