About me:

Open Vein started out as a yahoo group, as a place for writers to gather and post goals, accomplishments---their progress in general. It then extended to a blog (http://openaveinandwrite.blogspot.com), and in an effort to grow and build that site, has now extended to MySpace. What is the goal of the Open a Vein Writer's Group? To provide support, offer resources, give writers a chance to share what they've learned along the way, and a place for free promotion. Okay, "practically free" would be more correct. All that is asked in return is that you place a link to the Open Vein Blogspot blog on your webbie or blog and that you are a Friend of Open Vein Writer's Group here at MySpace. :) That's it. Practially free. Oh, and you don't hafta be a writer to be a Friend of Open Writer's Group. You can be a reader, a plumber, a dog pedicurist, a light bulb changer, a wallpaper hanger---I'd go on, but I suspect you get the picture. There's nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein. ~Walter Wellesley "Red" Smith

And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt. ~Sylvia Plath

Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass. ~Anton Chekhov

Easy reading is damn hard writing. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne

To me, the greatest pleasure of writing is not what it's about, but the inner music the words make. ~Truman Capote, McCall's, November 1967 Myspace 2.0 Layouts - Myspace Graphics - Image Hosting
