About me: PLEASE READ OUR BLOG ABOUT FRIENDSHIP AND COMMENT GUIDELINES BEFORE REQUESTING US AS A FRIEND OR SUBMITTING A COMMENT. THANK YOU!!!
Welcome to Operation Home's Myspace!!!
We are here to show support for the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. Whether as individuals we oppose or support the wars we find our country involved in, whatever our personal political affiliations, we all agree that the people who are stationed around the globe desereve our respect, our support, and our good will. Anyone who fits that description is MORE than welcome to join us here in our friends! Service members, their families, civilians, celebrities, it doesn't matter. All we ask is that in submitting a friend request you do so to show your support. Organizations not involved with troops support, or "friend collectors" who are simply trying to get the most "Myspace friends", please don't. We want our numbers to be a true testament for our heroes in uniform to see that they are remembered, loved, prayed for, and supported!
Also please refrain from submitting comments of a political nature. As a group we are composed of Republicans, Democrats, Indepentdants, Liberals, Conservatives, and non-political people. Keep messages positive, and in show of your support for our troops stationed in harm's way around the world - from Iraq to Afghanistan, Korea to Kuwait, and all other points of debarkation.
Thanks for your support, and your understanding!
Now enjoy our music, videos, and spiffy graphics! =)
A "Thank You" from the creator of the video, "bosphotoman" (11/23/06)- Thank you all so much for watching my Daughtry Home Music Video. it was watched by 1800 people on You Tube yesterday and 190 on google. I have read that some people have sent it to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I hope they see it and I hope they like it. As a former Marine and Vietnam Vet I know how much the support from ordinary citizens means when you are far from home. I for one will send several Daughtrys CDs to the troops hope you and your friends do the same. They will love Daughtrys song "Home"
The purpose of this site is to help promote support for our service men and women standing in harm's way around the globe.
We have several projects underway - Operation : Home , Cafe Leisure, and coming soon, a reprise of Operation Home : Mission Homefront. Read all about them in the blog section!
Please feel free to post messages of encouragement and support to our heroes and their families in the comment section!
I know most Honor Our Fallen on the last Monday in May... but in our home May 30th was the day in which we Honored them. My dad was a WWII Veteran... and just because those in Congress took it upon themselves to change the date to make Memorial Day into a three-day weekend... made know difference to my dad. They could change it to whatever they wanted... but for him... Memorial Day would always be May 30th. And in being his daughter and being like-minded as him in so many ways... and in having this day always be the day in which we Honored Our Fallen. I have continued to do so even though he has been gone longer than my heart and mind wishes to dwell. He lays beside my brother... both receiving flowers on the 30th of May in Honor of their service.
To the men and women who gave their all... who believed in something greater than self... and sacrificed so others may be free... to live free... and all that entails. I Honor you this day and remember all that is great in the country in which I live because you made it possible for me to live it.
Memorial Day is not about a three day weekend, it is not about beer and BBQ, it is not about a great sale at the mall. Memorial Day is about those who gave their lives for this great country. This weekend, please take the time to honor the fallen. May we never forget and may we be forever greatful.
