We are interested in collecting donation to send as many trees as possible to the troops stationed overseas.

You're sad because you're plan's got canceled with you're friends.
_tokenizer_reserved=""/> He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.
You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls. He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.
..
You complain about how hot it is. He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.
You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong. He doesn't get to eat today.
Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes. He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.
You go to the mall and get your hair redone. He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.
You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over. He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.
You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight. He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.
You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday. He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.
You roll your eyes as a baby cries. He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.
You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything. He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.
You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him. He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.
You see only what the media wants you to see. He sees the broken bodies lying around him.
You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't. He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger.
You stay at home and watch TV. He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

About me: Operation Christmas Tree was started when our daughter was deployed to Iraq in October of 2006. We wanted to send her a standard size christmas tree. However, there was an issue on shipping due to the size. So, the idea of sending "Charlie Brown trees" came in to play. We purchased 75 mini tree in pots and included battery operated lights and mini ornaments. We sent these trees to our daughter's unit and other units in Afganistan and Iraq. It was a huge moral booster for the troops that received them. The Washington Post did an article Christmas Eve of 2006 and the foundation was born.

President Harry S. Truman signed the legislation in 1949 and June 14th
was properly designated Flag Day. This is where Flag Day stands today,
50 years after Truman as we enter the twenty-first century......see my
Blog.

My heart is heavy while I write this, LCpl. Kevin T. Preach.... yet another to lose his life so we can live free. One of thousands that have died, and yet here life goes on. I think of my five year old son, of the infinite love I have for him and can't fathom how the hearts of our fallen soldiers families must feel, but here in the land of the free life goes on. Many in this nation would not know the name Kevin T. Preach and that in itself is unfathomable to me. Cpl Kenny Bowen was in the same vehicle and although severly injured through the grace of God survived and yet his battle is just begining. Soldiers have an inexplicaple bond with eachother, we are family. We love and care for eachother as if our DNA were all the same. Cpl. Bowen will wonder for the rest of his life why he is alive and his brother LCpl. Preach is not. He will replay the events in his mind for all of his life and when he does there will be a hole in his heart, a deep bottomless pain that nothing will alieviate, and yet here in the USA life goes on. There has to come a time in your life when you stop and think of a person who does not even know you willing to die for your rights and freedoms, there has to come a time when you realize that in Ann Arbor Mich. LCpl. preachs' mother and love ones have lost something so precious to them. As an American it is our DUTY to remember these warriors, the ones who gave the ultimate sacrifice and their brothers who are left with the grief of them leaving before their time. Life goes on, but how would it go without the warriors who protect it? What quality of life would you have without these brave souls who risk it all so you can keep it. Do not forget us, do not let a day go by that you are not grateful that we protect and keep all your liberties and freedoms safe, do not deny the unconsolable pain that the families of the fallen are left with. Do not forget us, we are you
Troy….A soldier stationed at ft. Riley suffered a tragic accident when a routine jump went wrong and his chute failed proper deployment. Upon arrival at the hospital surgery failed to locate a severed artery and now this young soldier is on life support with the risk of his young and valiant life being extinguished. His brother is active military, and now this family that has given so much to our country need our help in return.... pray, then pray some more. He was willing to give his life for our liberties and freedoms and now he needs US. Find the compassion in your hearts to help this family that has helped us, may God protect you Troy for your selfless service to keep us safe.
Please post comments in my blog rather than sending emails....this allows others to read your kind words....thank you! Also please re post!
I just wanted to thank you over and over again for the tree that was delivered to Sgt Brown who is living out in the boonies with his fellow soldiers. The tree was so very appreciated and made them all feel as if they could have been home!
