Operon is a Company that manufactures sonic biological products; audio life. The company came into existence in the summer of 2007 when president Gordon Rees began the design and manufacture of Operon’s first product. Initially, the company’s philosophy and approach to design and manufacture of its products was based in recycling sonic samples from a variety of sources. The reason for this was that we wanted to approach the design and manufacture of the products being as sonically environmentally friendly as we could. Having defined parameters of which to work within also seemed like a good challenge, as well as a unique point to market ourselves on. However, by the time Operon had come to the early design stages of its 8th product this method seemed limiting if we wanted to take the sound in new directions both in the present and the future.
Audio life, or a sonic biological product, is essentially no different than regular biological life found here on earth. It has interacting parts and components, it can malfunction, it is capable of growth and reproduction, and it can adapt as well as evolve. Audio life can also communicate and control its own entropy, and like other life forms it too will eventually die.
However, these products still have a marked difference from other biological forms of life. For instance, their tangibility is significantly different from anything else on earth. Sonic biological products also have very different reproduction and other life cycle patterns than do most other forms of life on this planet.
As a human being you can interact with it; responding emotionally or physically. You may choose to engage with it or ignore it. It may be an organism you have no affinity for, or it may be one that becomes a part of you; integrated in to your life, forming a commensal or symbiotic relationship with you, just as the billions of bacteria that cover your body also do.

If nothing else though, we want them to at least inspire a sense of intrigue.
For the time being our products are relatively simple. The reason for this is that we are still in the early stages, and are constantly formulating and reformulating much of our intended direction for the future and strategy for the present.
As of now, we sell our products and also do live product demonstrations, primarily to the GTA market, however, we will be looking to expand our target markets in the near future.
We here at Operon encourage you to come and be apart of the Operon experience. Whether it is at a live product demonstration or just through casual interaction on your own, the Operon experience will hopefully be one that gets you interacting with our products on at least a superficial level.
